This thread is worth a read. Change is costly but it’s possible that climate change may actually be a net positive for the world. Crop yields have gone way up with warmer weather and most of our land is closer to the poles eg Siberia. 1/2

@sama What a galaxy brain take to blame educational institutions for this instead of politicians who knew about climate change for decades but didn't bother to act. Maybe you should go into those institutions and educate yourself on the suffering caused by climate change today.

Thinking the world is both doomed and unfixable, almost as a point of pride, is a terrible mindset. I suspect our educational institutions are instilling it, but even if not, they should counteract it.

Spoke to some really smart college kids recently. Almost universally, they had a belief that climate change was an unstoppable disaster and the most pressing issue of our time.

@TimoBerg6 The CDU is weiter so, but the FDP is actively reactionary/libertarian - just look at the programmes. Also the FDP is cohesive & emboldened, while the CDU is in disarray. We can get a better coalition deal with them - at the end of the day what can we get with the FDP?

The CDU is completely rudderless, this morning the minister president of Saxony has said Laschet cannot lead a government, the CSU is being highly critical - literally everyone who backed Laschet knows that if they go into opposition it’s over for them.

@DaleJStephens That's a feature of a well functioning currency. A small inflation rate over a long time will do that. We don't want people just hoarding cash.

"gender is a spectrum" is so reductive, it's not like you have male and female at the ends and then everything is a gradient between them. gender is a plane with "masc/fem" and "androgynous/undifferentiated" axes and can be measured by an online personality test
