Ableism aside this is a dogshit example because never making plans to hang out because you're worried people are just being polite is exactly how you don't better your life and social connections. Like just suggest a day for coffee but if they say they're busy etc. don't push it.

I’ve recently started choosing to believe people when they say things like this, and being the one to reach out. If they didn’t mean it, they can make an excuse to not go, that’s chill, but I think a lot of people are down for becoming better friends but are scared to initiate.
