From Thammasat University FB page on Monday, December 15, 2025: --- “This is not the time for peace negotiations” — a Thammasat academic says “sovereignty must be defended first,” advises proactive communication against Cambodia "A Thammasat University academic stated that this is not yet an appropriate time to engage in peace negotiations with Cambodia. While negotiations at the table remain the ultimate goal, Thailand must first defend its sovereignty until the situation returns to normal before entering talks. "The academic also suggested that Thailand should strengthen its strategic communication to the international community, making it clear that Thailand is defending against a threat, not merely acting in self-defense after being attacked." --- #Thailand #ThailandCambodia #ไทยกัมพูชา #ธรรมศาสตร์ #Thammasat #socialasksTUacts

The Anutin government may not have an endgame scenario for the ongoing deadly border conflict with Cambodia as charged by several international affairs and defence experts, but the Royal Thai Army appears to have a fixed idea on how to deal with the Cambodian armed forces. Gen Chaiyapruek Duangprapat, the army chief-of-staff, made it clear in an exclusive interview with Thai PBS that the ultimate aim of the Thai army is to make sure that Cambodia will no longer pose a threat to Thailand’s national security “for a long time to come.” Read more: world.thaipbs.or.th/detail/top-gen… #ThaiPBSWorld #ThailandNews #ThailandUpdate

[Breaking] Thai Military Orders Gulf Blockade to Stop Fuel and Military Supplies to Cambodia The Royal Thai Armed Forces have ordered a blockade of the Gulf of Thailand to prevent fuel and military supplies from reaching Cambodia, while designating waters around Cambodian ports as a high-risk zone, officials said on December 14. An urgent directive from the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters and Military Command Centre states that the move follows a December 14 decision by the Committee of the Chiefs of Staff. The council resolved to take action against Thai vessels—or foreign-registered vessels operated by Thai interests—suspected of transporting fuel or military supplies to Cambodia by sea. The aim is to restrict Cambodia’s ability to threaten Thailand. The armed forces have requested that the Defence Ministry submit the matter to the National Security Council for urgent discussion. Measures under consideration include tightening surveillance and control over commercial and fishing vessels, and escalating enforcement under existing maritime security laws. The declaration of Cambodian port waters as a high-risk area is intended to strengthen monitoring and prevent smuggling operations. #Thailand #Cambodia #ไทยกัมพูชา #ชายแดนไทยกัมพูชา
