STAR FOCUS : MICHAEL JACKSON Michael Jackson was born in 1958 in Gary, Indiana, the eighth child in a working‑class family. His father Joe Jackson pushed his children into music, forming the Jackson 5, where Michael’s talent quickly stood out. By age 11, Michael was already a star, leading the Jackson 5 to hits like I Want You Back and ABC. His charisma and voice made him the group’s centerpiece. In 1979, his solo album "Off the Wall" marked the beginning of his independent stardom. He formed a legendary relationship with producer " Quincy Jones" and together they made hits ,But it was Thriller (1982) that changed everything , becoming the best‑selling album of all time, with iconic videos like Billie Jean and Thriller that revolutionized MTV and pop culture. Jackson didn’t just sing, he transformed performance. The moonwalk, the anti‑gravity lean, and his electrifying stage presence set new standards for entertainers worldwide. His later albums Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991), and HIStory (1995) produced global hits like Man in the Mirror, Black or White, and You Are Not Alone. He became a symbol of breaking racial barriers in music, dominating charts across continents. Despite fame, Michael faced intense scrutiny: changes in his appearance, tabloid rumors, and legal battles. Yet his artistry remained undeniable, earning him the title “Greatest Entertainer of All Time." He died in 2009 at age 50, while preparing for his comeback tour This Is It.
