This is something i've noticed A LOT in recent years, especially regarding tropes. Media is starting to asume that every spectator has already seen all the tropes and normal ways of doing a story and they jump straight away without developing it. But they fail to understand that just because someone already knows a trope (and that's IF they know the trope, because it's always someone's first time), you still have to do it for the spectator to feel it was delivered in a satisfactory way For example you see stories were it's kinda obvious two characters are gonna end up together, so the story just forfeits the process entirely and they're already madly in love. A character who makes something bad will end up redeeming themselves, but because it's obvious, they forfeit the entire process as to why would they want to redeem themselves and just straight up do something to redeem themselves. Sometimes they don't even do something to redeem themselves, it's just assumed they have done so and the rest of characters treat them normally. A character who is obvious will die dies and it will be treated as a dramatic moment but they've done nothing to make the character loved and the death impactful. Or because it is assumed they will die they just die without any relevance, even off-screen. It's hard to explain because it's usually smaller details, but i see a lot of media that just seems to jump straight to the conclusion of a trope without the process. There's not an understanding that things have to be shown on-screen for the audience to accept it and feel it, even if they already know it will happen. And then of course they'll try to subvert what everyone knows will happen but it'll fall flat because they haven't developed it, and many people at this point don't even know what trope is supposed to be subverting, because everything is a subversion nowadays.
