A woman has been charged with child abuse after a Ring video showed her verbally scolding a child and slapping him during an Instacart delivery of groceries in St. Augustine, Florida, authorities said. After the child is unable to carry a basket of groceries, the mother, identified as Kiah Lowery, orders him to carry a 24-pack of bottled water instead, the footage shows. The child voiced a struggle with the weight of the item before dropping the case. Lowery then strikes the child in the face. Following an investigation, Lowery was arrested and transported to the St. Johns County Jail. Post Lowery's release, she is ordered to have no contact with the child. Officials did not release details about the child's condition but said appropriate steps are being taken to ensure the child's safety. The slap is not the worst part of this- Its what she says to him. Both actions and the words will stay him but those words become his inner voice. 💔
