I hate comparing MVP candidates to past MVPs. That's not who they're competing against. Having said that, Nikola Jokić is (1) on pace to break his own single-season BPM record; (2) become the first player in NBA history to lead the league in rebounds and assists per game in the same season; and (3) lead the league in points added by field-goal shooting. Right now, it looks like he's going to finish outside the top two in MVP voting, which is genuinely absurd in a year in which he appears to be one of the two statistical candidates for it.
