This indie dev spent 1,400+ days building his game, Tangy TD, completely from scratch in C++. Seeing him and his wife react after the game earned $250,000 in its first week after launch is honestly beautiful.

Messing with the RetroTINK-4K's latest experimental FW, shrugged at the new high-pass filter until I tried it on my 2-chip SNES... RT5x's pre-emph did similar, but the RT4K seems to have finer control. A 2.00 MHz HPF (3.00 for hi-res modes) very nearly fixes the smear for me.

@Dizzlekrew @pcgamer We still don't know Steam Machine prices yet. Maybe they'll subsidize that RAM at a loss to offer the boxes at something like 500 bucks to save PC gaming and still increase Sream revenue even though nobody could've afforded a proper setup on his own.

@IRLoadingScreen Only two of those are true for me (receding hair and hat to compensate). I haven't changed my personality since my teenage years which is probably worse than changing it when your hairline recedes.

I'd love to see another Metroid game that goes for the more bleak and unforgiving style of the original Metroid instead of taking Super Metroid as the baseline for 2D Metroids.

@Dreamboum Games that were completely broken and almost unplayable in the original version that got good in a remake would count in theory. This never happens though because there's no demand for remakes of really bad games.

@BobWulff There's still a little bit of hope that Intel, of all evil companies, gets in to fill that gap with GPUs from their own foundries that dont rely on TSMC having some slots open for non-AI production lines. It's Intel though, so they'll manage to fumble that opportunity.

This isn't just gaming. It's going to be less and less viable for general consumers to have local computing power. When the AI bubble pops, all the computing power will be cloud based. Welcome to hell.

@PlayStalgiaX Descent. Incredibly immersive and fun and the dynamic lighting of the PS1 version was WAY ahead of its time. Just digital controls in a 6DOF first person shooter were a bit of a downgrade but doable with practice and we only had squeaky, badly calibrated joysticks on PC anyway.
