If you think the Earth is flat, what do the letters in GPS stand for?

@TittyCroissant6 @samlambert @elonmusk You are not big enough, so they probably don't care about you, buddy. Also, their AI has no obligation to know about your service or to be accurate about you, nobody owes you anything. Who do you think you are? Also can You be more cringe?

Claude told a user that PlanetScale had shut our service down. This is unsafe by any definition and Anthropic have made no effort to correct this situation.

@samlambert @elonmusk Yeah, didn't think you had one. Maybe concentrate more on making a better product with less rugpulls and less dunking on random Twitter accounts you feel are beneath you.

This kind of stuff is bleak. I get that we’re in a new era, but we desperately need a new crash course in media literacy, or just a reminder to be remotely discerning. The governor of Texas should not be sharing an obviously fake photo from a slop account.

@TittyCroissant6 @tomdoorley Well the child's parents didn't even know it was their child until the case appeared in court. There's a lot that's not being reported here.

Yes, "view". It has nothing to do with the facts of the case.
Colette Colfer@ColetteColfer

I keep getting into discussions about Enoch Burke. I'm putting a line under it. My views on the matter are that his suspension was 100% related to gender identity belief, that the school Principal behaved unjustly albeit with good intention by requesting all staff to use they/them pronouns, that Burke was disruptive and his behaviour objectionable and that this warranted a disciplinary procedure. Was it gross misconduct justifying skipping the first three steps of routine misconduct hearings? This is questionable. Some will say yes, some will say no. Yes, he is in jail because he violated court orders. The orders arose because he refused to accept the terms of his suspension (prohibited from entering school grounds). Ultimately I think two types of extremism encountered each other at Wilsons Hospital School - one, a type of Evangelical Christianity, the other, gender identity belief. Burke has been used as a mechanism by which to further silence any and all critique of gender identity belief in Ireland. We need more discussion - more open conversation, not less. At least now people are aware that teachers have been compelled to use preferred pronouns. It is only in very recent months that the Department of Education confirmed that teachers are not required to do so - thanks to an article and coverage in the Irish Times. Remember? In January the Irish Council for Civil Liberties (true story) produced a guide saying schools MUST use preferred pronouns and then the Department responded. Maybe it's thanks to Enoch that the issue was brought to this. Enoch was never violent. Disruptive yes. I do not agree with his religious beliefs and I think he could have protested the instruction in other more productive ways. But here we are. ENDS. I will not be responding to any comments on this.

Every time I'm forced to interact with #windows11 I'm reminded what a deeply un-serious operating system it is. Fresh install, release track, no software installed.

@saketme Completely disingenuous take, Android's emulator is skinnable, iOS one isn't. Also - the Android emulator itself is superior in almost every possible other metric to the iOS simulator.

It's interesting how clearly Google vs Apple shows up in something as small as virtual devices frames. iOS simulator: sharp, natively rendered Android emulator: transparent PNG, rough corners with jagged edges

It seems before the start menu that shipped with 25H2, Microsoft was experimenting with other designs... and those experiments look so much better than what we actually got... 😭 All of these are absolute peak and instead we got the garbage that we have currently on Windows. 💀

In addition to having the full high-functioning autist power set, Elon also genuinely likes being around and working with other people, which is a bit rare. The correlation between deep technical ability and anti-social hermit tendencies is real, and it limits a lot of people (ahem). @Project2501_117 had to point this out to me.
Max@minordissent

Elon’s great super power is weapons grade autism combined with 99.9th percentile conscientiousness. Most people that conscientious are risk averse rule followers and most people that autistic have non existent executive function such they just become anti semitic mentats incapable of building anything.

Here’s what I’d do if I was in charge of GitHub, in order: 1. Establish a North Star plan around being critical infrastructure for agentic code lifecycles and determine a set of ways to measure that. 2. Fire everyone who works on or advocates for copilot and shut it down. It’s not about the people, Im sure theres many talented people, youre just working at the wrong company. 3. Buy Pierre and launch agentic repo hosting as the first agentic product. Repos would be separate from the legacy web product to start since they’re likely burdened with legacy cross product interactions. 4. Re-evaluate all product lines and initiatives against the new North Star. I suspect 50% get cut (to make room for different ones). The big idea is all agentic interactions should critically rely on GitHub APIs. Code review should be agentic but the labs should be building that into GH (not bolted in through GHA like today, real first class platform primitives). GH should absolutely launch an agent chat primitive, agent mailboxes are obviously good. Etc. GH should be a platform and not an agent itself. This is going to be very obviously lacking since I only have external ideas to work off of and have no idea how GitHub internals are working, what their KPIs are or what North Star they define, etc. But, with imperfect information, this is what I’d do.

@endermanch "Linux is free if you don't value your time" This may have been true 10 years ago but it's complete rubbish now. Sure, you can waste loads of time in Linux if that's your thing but you don't have to. Just grab a mainstream distro and off you go!

A few weeks ago you claimed there was a genocide going on how did 6 million people escape ? You are reporting false facts, In mid-2023, the estimated population of the Gaza Strip was approximately 2.23 million people. And now you are re posting that 2 million have left gaza, so then with the deaths there should be no one there ???
