@Grovfu @haalaphrodyke I mean he technically didn't need to specify their gender at all, but all he did was specify that they are indeed trans. I will again concede that it wasn't absolutely necessary but it's a very negligible factoid mention overall.

@TitusHigle @haalaphrodyke See, that's just the thing, THAT is all the information you need to understand what Wachowskis we're talking about: The ones that made The Matrix. That's why I don't understand how it could be confusing to people unless just being trans as a concept is confusing to them

@firebornnn It was because the vote Yes side had almost no advertising funding while the vote no side pumped out ads about how Nancy Pelosi and Washington would control your paycheck somehow.

@Kerryist04 Jesus christ you sound stupid as fuck. Making fun of a non marginalised group is not the same as making fun of a marginalised group, Fuck off with your fake woke ass. And these aren't ignorant assumptions white people do appropriate AAVE alot, It's talked about constantly

I cant believe that tweet abt white gay men misusing aave (the most common lgbtq critique ever ((that nobody listens to)) got turned into a “lesbians are homophobic” thing

@bloodiedwings Why would butch lesbians stereotypes care about gay guys using ballroom/drag slang they picked up from Ru Paul?

@bloodiedwings they’re trying to make it a “adding white in front of a homophobic statement” thing but in this scenario race is important to the context 😭😭

@colindr23 @riririmsi @JackieStansDan you guys keep saying this is a homophobic caricature and im genuinely not understanding. this is pretty accurate to how most white gay men these days carry themselves

Reading stuff like this lowkey made me realize it’s entirely possible that Annabelle just straight up does not like gay men.

@JackieStansDan @yneohp13 a white person absolutely can critique white racism, it’s just that most who try fuck up. this IS right message, right messenger, because it’s criticism from inside the group, and it’s struck a nerve

@JBotato @alexxozydu 1. The terms used here are form ballroom/drag, not AAVE. 2. Wanna, gonna, and most other slang terms since the 1980s have from AAVE. Using them by itself is not appropriation or disrespectful unless you are using them in a mocking or ignorant way.

@alexxozydu if you’re not black you shouldn’t be talking on that, but fine, aave does that change a thing?

Imagine if someone said “I don’t care that I offended black gays” after making a bunch of ignorant assumptions about them Everyone would be up in arms But because they’re white you’re free to attack them incessantly with zero consequences Absolutely vile behavior

@gabycaq @ecroem9677 /gonna or wanna now? Because those are AAVE/southern slang in origin. Most popular slang since the late 1980s has from he South and/or AAVE.

@gabycaq @ecroem9677 The words are ballroom/drag terms, not AAVE. So aside from the fact that they do not in fact belong to the butch and intellectual Lesbian caricatures, if these guys are involved in drag, it is also very much their language. Even then, are we going to cancel everyone who says/

@EnjoyerOfSunak @Loozrrrrrpedal @ecroem9677 Also why are the stereotypical butch stud and masc nerdy black girl the ones upset at gay guys using ballroom/drag slang? Aside from them not being the primary demographics involved in drag at all, I guess the artist thinks all slang comes directly from AAVE?

@Loozrrrrrpedal @ecroem9677 Black Butch lesbians did not invent ballroom slang. Also, using AAVE in any capacity is not offense by itself? Or are we going to cancel everyone who has ever said "wanna" or "gonna?"
