@TalkoftheTownFB @JeremyYankey Theres a lot more schools than most realize that pay 2-3 coaches for VARSITY football. At those schools the same coaches may have to coach JV and MS(which may or may not be separate teams) Everyone else on those staffs are volunteer coaches, just there b/c they love it.

Do you realize how difficult it is to find quality HS assistant coaches in many small communities let alone quality MS coaches. Many schools only pay two positions to coach at the MS level which is not nearly enough.

It blows my mind how many HS FB programs just throw anybody out there to coach their middle school team and wonder why their HS FB program isn't succeeding. You just allowed your athletes to lose 2 years of development. Middle School programs matter!

The greed, the power, the win at all cost mentality has trickled its way down to HS sports. It's cruel what's going on with our game. Integrity/morality of coaching and mentoring the youth is becoming a lost art. Winning should always be a byproduct of character and good morals.

Boy the AHSAA really put some deep thought into this. We have 3 2A schools within 20 minutes but instead of playing them we will travel and hour and a half or more for every game against teams we have zero history with. Talk about getting shafted.
