@barakgila Ugh. That’s what I did, reluctantly. Our options suck.

Better slogan ideas for Matt Mahan: - The demahand is lower than the supply. - Not mahanly enough for the right, too transhumahanist for the left. - Watching him speak is emahansculating. - Garry Tan’s failed attempt to mahanipulate the election. - Another yes-mahan for Chris Larsen. Which one’s your favorite?

are we feeling the mahanmentum yet? lots of voters are still undecided! tell your local pollster you're with @MattMahanSJ

@markburns4RE The state should consider creating some kind of insurance commissioner office or something to make sure markets function efficiently for consumers and carriers 🙂

@TobinGilman I’ve had clients in nice safe spots in downtown Los Gatos pay $7K+ on the FAIR plan because of being in a ‘High Fire Severity Zone’ and the neighbors directly across the street pay $2K because they weren’t in the zone. The same happens in 100-year vs 500-year flood zones, etc.

The FAIR Plan, aka the plan of last resort, is going up 29% on average. Even if you have a regular homeowners policy from one of the big insurers in the state; this affects you because the funding for FAIR is partially funded by them. Essentially; everyone pays more because the state can’t manage wildland areas, clear out the fuel that has accumulated for decades, and create more water storage. An ounce of prevention vs a pound of cure. mercurynews.com/2026/05/21/cal…

In his absence, 3,000 homeless people have been housed, 25,000 new homes were built, crime is down by 50%, housing prices have fallen below the national average, Measure E was repealed, sales tax has been cut by 1.5%, & the $56 million deficit has flipped to a projected surplus.

As San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan has campaigned for governor the last 3.5 months, the mayor has missed more than a third of City Council meetings, a Bay Area News Group analysis found. He's also been absent from every MTC meeting & all but one VTA meeting. mercurynews.com/2026/05/21/mat…

Matt Mahan on Ezra Klein, laying out the most pragmatic approach to homelessness in California: Convert rundown motels into transitional housing. House people from the local neighborhood first. No-encampment zones only AFTER offering real alternatives. Result: 911 calls drop. Blight drops. Neighborhoods stabilize. Meanwhile the state spends $1M per unit on new affordable housing that takes years to build. This is what happens when a politician actually cares about the outcomes for homeless people before writing policy. nytimes.com/video/opinion/…

@davidfgregg @garrytan Maybe he should have apologized for his efforts to weaken Prop 13. Now it’s too late. About 20% of expected ballots are already in and he’s battling Katie Porter for 5th place.

@garrytan This is who I am voting for. I live in LA and sadly he is not on anyone's radar here. I tell everyone who asks me "What do you think about Governor?" How do we get Matt Mahan more traction? What helps cut through the noise?

With roughly 20% of projected ballots returned, Republicans and seniors continue to over perform. 5.9% of all registered voters have returned their ballots. ✅ 8.8% of registered Republicans have voted. ✅ 12.7% of seniors 65 or older have voted.

@D09119713 I agree that the GOP has little chance of winning in November, but Is this poll significantly different than the independent polls? They all have GOP with about 1/3 combined, Hilton ahead of Bianco, Becerra beating all Dems including Steyer, the rest irrelevant.

@TobinGilman The Dem party is terrified of two R’s & pushing Hilton in attempt to block Bianco. This poll is probably rubbish. Dem Gov Assoc pumped $500k into supporting Hilton. And why is there no negative media narrative of Hilton today? Coordinated? Likely, he will be destroyed vs a D

@SteveHiltonx Agree Bianco needs to drop out so we have at least one Republican, which should be you. But… Matt Mahan is actually the perfect candidate for a workable and effective change for California.

There are two candidates for governor who would bring change: me and Chad Bianco. Only one of us can now make the run-off. A vote for Bianco is a vote for TWO DEMOCRATS in the top two. Here's the math:
