@txgermanbre As far as I know around 60% of the gas prices are federal taxes (energy taxes, carbon taxes and VAT). When you look at other European neighbors the prices are still higher then normal but much cheaper than in Germany.

@Harrisbro777 Europe should take the deal. Trump did not fully think this through, and now he should face the consequences of his own actions. While the Iranian regime is indeed a hostile and evil, his actions were poorly planned and executed. He should bear the negative impact alone.

President Trump is right to strongly consider leaving NATO.
I support the President’s constitutional authority under Article II to withdraw from any treaty — including NATO — without needing Senate approval. Congress tried to block that with the 2023 Kaine-Rubio provision in the NDAA, but the Constitution grants the executive power to the president.

@mikepompeo Many people forget NATO is a defense alliance, not an offensive one. Trump did not inform allies before acting and said early in the war NATO partners weren’t needed. Weeks later, after failing to reach his goals, he again showed his flip-flopping nature and blames allies.

NATO has been a key instrument in securing America's superpower status.
We have every right to insist that our NATO allies pull their weight, but should always remember the principal reason we've invested so heavily in the alliance to begin with: advancing our own interests.
