Anytime my husband and I fought, I stopped cooking. I didn’t care if he had eaten or not. I would just make food for myself and leave him to sort himself out. He never argued. He would simply order food or fix something for himself. I’d only resume cooking when I was calm again. Then one month, we had another fight… and as usual, I didn’t cook. The month ended, and he still sent my allowance… Plus the full foodstuff money like he always does. He even sent the money he had promised my dad. I was surprised. I asked him why he would still send food money when I hadn’t been cooking. He simply said, “Because it’s my responsibility.” I felt so ashamed. That was the last time I ever did that. Now, even when I’m upset, I still cook for him. And I’ve noticed something… Most of our quarrels don’t even last anymore. Somehow, we always end up talking things out while eating. Small things like this save marriages.

Went to register a SIM today, and what happened honestly got me thinking. After the first process, he captured my face, and I assumed everything was done. Next thing, he said the registration didn’t go through because the network was bad. Since I wasn’t paying too much attention at first, we started the process all over again. This time, I noticed he picked up another SIM entirely, not the one we had registered earlier. That was when it hit me… he had registered two different SIMs. This is exactly how people get implicated in things they know nothing about. I made sure I collected both SIMs, even though he kept denying it. I’m very sure of what I saw. In the next 24 hours, I’ll find out if both were activated. Please, whenever you’re registering a SIM, pay close attention. Don’t assume anything. Watch every step.

In 2005, I visited a rich family in Abuja. Dinner was served at about 5 pm, or thereabout. I initially thought it was an appetizer because of the quantity. At the time, I alone could finish one pack of spaghetti. Well, I was done with my meal in less than five minutes. By the time it was 8 pm, my stomach had already started making noise. I went to the kitchen, pretending to look for water to drink, because I needed to know if anyone was cooking. When I realized they weren’t cooking anything, I simply told my host I was going to call my parents at a business centre down the road. When I got there, saw one mallam arranging indomie and eggs. Sharply, I ordered two Indomie, three fried eggs, and one bottle of Mountain Dew to wash it down. After I finished, I went back to the house and slept off. Since that day, I have learned to take care of myself whenever visit rich people.

This is not far from the truth. Any girl that can't buy her own sanitary pads is a serious red flag to avoid. What will happen if you fail to buy for her in a certain month? She'll use clothes pieces or go beg your neighbors so it'll pain you. In addition, this is the kind of woman that you'll have to buy basically everything for the house without a dime coming from her as support. This kind of woman will disrespect you before everyone - your neighborhood, your friends, church and even at the market.
