Today we're announcing @Tok_edge - out of stealth with a $15M valuation, raising $21M at TGE with a $100M first close target. Institutional demand for digital assets is validated with @BlackRock 's Bitcoin ETF and @Strategy's digital asset treasury. But these are single asset products restricted to traditional finance rails – they don't touch DeFi, where capital markets are being rebuilt on-chain with 24-hour settlement, no centralised intermediaries and programmable infrastructure. We established @Tok_edge to bring institutional capital on-chain - as active participants. We maintain the structure and governance that institutional investors expect - while our new Redemption Token operates on public blockchains, designed to integrate with exchanges and DeFi protocols. I know crypto (esp Ethereum) absolutely sucks right now, I feel it and have taken hits too I almost quit crypto in 2019, I was going totally broke, couldn't find any clients that I didn't think were scammers, crypto seemed absolutely dead, and I wanted to just go back to doing M&A and never hear the word crypto again Five months later DeFi summer happened, I was quickly a multi-millionaire as were a lot of others. No guarantees of a repeat but I just feel every day from what we're working on at MetaLeX and what our clients/colleagues/partners are working on, no matter how remote it feels now, crypto and Ethereum will have another great breakout again.

I don't think we'll ever see altseason back. Most of the altcoins will die and have literally no purpose in this ecosystem. That's just the harsh reality of the market and that's not bad. The teams and protocols that are innovative and provide an ecosystem in which value accruals towards the ecosystem themselves, that makes sense to be sustaining a token itself. Other than that, there's only, mostly been a purpose of generating and making money for the founders and/or VCs or market makers that have been trading them. Only 1% of the tokens make sense and that's why investing into #Altcoins has become more complex. The only window where we'll be seeing more momentum into those altcoins will be in the end phase of the cycle, that will likely be late in 2027 or even in 2028. Before that, we'll only see strength in tokens that have value accrual or when there's a hype narrative taking place.

Crypto reached a peak market cap of ~$4.4tn, yet no token category has solved the "holy grail" duality problem - until now: 1. Permissionless on public blockchains 2. Mechanism to a verifiable reference value Utility, governance, memecoins solve the first but most have no functional value and go to zero. Tokenised securities fit the second but are restricted to only private or whitelisted blockchains. Stablecoins solve for both and have grown into a ~$320bn market, even though their peg to the dollar limits use cases. With @Tok_edge we have solved the duality problem by designing a new crypto asset token category. 🔶Redemption Tokens. Whitepaper next.
