The team was looking for a way to visualize our yield flows, and this beauty is what came out of it. PS: the only negative rate is the one showing our gold borrow rate. So yes, people in testnet are actually getting paid to borrow gold, which they can then earn a counterparty-free yield on.

Maker DAO's economic endgame was explained in 2022: - a Pigeon stance based on maximum growth with no focus on resilience. Mainly exposure to RWA, to acquire more ETH and bootstrap liquidity. - a more transitional Eagle stance, with RWA exposure capped at 25%, more balanced. - a Phoenix stance based on maximum resilience and no RWA exposure, with a stablecoin that could survive any authoritarian pressure while also thriving. Do you see where things broke? Only the Pigeon stance came to life, as governance later slowed the decentralization plans after noticing stronger product-market fit elsewhere, given T-Bills yield due to high rates. It's hard to blame them, as Sky is growing at scale. But the protocol that pioneered decentralized stablecoins now operates as a distributor of exogenous yield, linked to TradFi and RWAs rather than onchain activity. Now USDS can even be frozen, and addresses blacklisted. The system from which DAI initially wanted to separate ended up becoming one with it. Also because of this we are introducing a narrower governance system, called Stewardship, where POLAR holders can adjust parameters or direct yields to help the system adapt to market conditions. But what they cannot do is add freeze functions or introduce admin intervention paths to turn the protocol into something it wasn't designed to be.
