Guys read this so that you will not sleep in prison.
1: Nigerian Armed Forces have a comprehensive social media policy designed to protect NATIONAL SECURITY, Prevent the Leakage of operational information, and maintain the professional image of the Military.
2: the policy is not intended to silence individuals but rather to strike a balance between FREE SPEECH and NATIONAL SECURITY.
3: There is a SOCIAL MEDIA DIRECTORATE to monitor compliance and address security beeches.
4: the security of the nation is greater than the liberty of any individual. Read Dokubo-Asari vs FRN 2007.
5: don’t discuss “coup or political change” with any military officers. It is a treasonable felony.
6: Don’t let the “applause” lead you to prison .

Fellow Nigerians, good morning.
I woke up this morning after my church service with a deeply reflective heart, and despite every constraint, I felt compelled to share these thoughts with you.
Many people do not truly understand the silent pains some of us carry daily—the private struggles, emotional burdens, and quiet battles we face while trying to survive and serve sincerely in difficult circumstances.
We now live in an environment that has become increasingly toxic, where the very system that should protect and create opportunities for decent living often works against the people—a society where intimidation, insecurity, endless scrutiny, and discouragement have become normal.
More painful is when some of those you associate with, believing you would find understanding and solidarity among them, become part of the pressure you face. Some who publicly identify with you privately distance themselves or join in unfair criticism.
We live in a society where humility is mistaken for weakness, respect is seen as a lack of courage, and compassion is treated as foolishness—a system where treating people equally is questioned simply because you refuse to worship status, tribe, class, or power.
Personally, I have never looked down on anyone except to uplift them. I have never used privilege, position, or resources to oppress others, intimidate the weak, or make people feel small. To me, leadership has always been about service, sacrifice, and helping others rise.
Let me state clearly: my decision to leave the ADC is not because our highly respected Chairman, Senator David Mark, treated me badly, nor because my leader and elder brother, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, or any other respected leaders did anything personally wrong to me. I will continue to respect them.
However, the same Nigerian state and its agents that created unnecessary crises and hostility within the Labour Party that forced me to leave now appear to be finding their way into the ADC, with endless court cases, internal battles, suspicion, and division, instead of focusing on deeper national problems and playing politics built more on control and exclusion than on service and nation-building.
Even within spaces where one labours sincerely, one is sometimes treated like an outsider in one’s own home. You and your team become easy targets for every failure, frustration, or misunderstanding, as though honest contribution has become a favour being tolerated rather than appreciated.
And when you choose to leave so that those you are leaving can have peace, and you step out into the cold, you are still maligned and your character is questioned. Despite all your efforts to continue working for a better Nigeria and engaging people with sincerity and goodwill, those who do not wish you well continue to attack your character and question your intentions.
There are moments I ask God in prayer: Why is doing the right thing often misconstrued as wrongdoing in our country? Why is integrity not valued? Why is the prudent management of resources, especially when invested in critical areas like education and healthcare, wrongly labelled as stinginess? Why are humility and obedience to the rule of law often taken to be weakness rather than discipline?
Let me assure all that I am not desperate to be President, Vice President, or Senate President. I am desperate to see a society that can console a mother whose child has been kidnapped or killed while going to school or work. I am desperate to see a Nigeria where people will not live in IDP camps but in their homes. I am desperate for a country where Nigerian citizens do not go to bed hungry, not knowing where their next meal will come from.
Yet, despite everything, I remain resolute. I firmly believe that Nigeria can still become a country with competent leadership based on justice, compassion, and equal opportunity for all.
A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Cowards Die Many Times
Nigeria is a republic. There are no first class and second class citizens.
You cannot continue to insist on bossing everyone else, even those better than you.
If a man won over 6m votes, excluding those not counted, he deserves the respect of being treated as an integer, not a fraction.
For those who care to know, if O cannot win, A cannot win. If O and A need to be together to win, then it should be OA this time, not AO

@fimiletoks This project shouldn’t have been approved in the first place. It poses a security risk to have a project of such height with a direct line of sight into the Presidential wing of the airport.
It’s a complete design flaw created by OBJ administration and Bi-Courtney.

@fimiletoks With the recent out of court settlement of the long standing MM2 brouhaha, I think the former Federal secretariat , which has become an eyesore, might be next. Fingers crossed.

@SirJarus You forgot to add that prior to his political ambition, he was a 1st class student of Chemical Engineering.
Elegbede Mohammed, I can’t forget when we both traveled to attend NANS convention in Abuja that year.

HemHem was a godfather of sorts to me in Ife. He was also the only student union contestant I campaigned for. A good part of his preliminary political strategy discussions happened in our room, where he was a regular visitor and had friends.
Fun fact: He contested for Student's Union Sec Gen 2 or 3 times and lost. Then contested for president and won.
He gained ground during the time we were having perennial crises on campus and students believed we needed a firm and fiery leader. There was a perception that some student leaders had become soft. There were also a number of student leader suspensions around the time. Everything was in disarray.
HemHem usually spoke in congresses and his "way forward" proposals usually made sense.
That was how he gained acceptability on campus and contested presidency.
Opposition threw all manner of propaganda at him though - including saying his nickname "HemHem" meant "Hemp Hemp", so he was an Indian He^p smoker, which was a lie. His very thick voice, skin hair cut and face could make anyone believe that though, but it was a lie.
On his manifesto night, I was in Amphi Theater and was one of those that actively cheered him. It was on that the night I knew he was going to win. He pulled crowd.
He won.
He was also impeached towards the end of his tenure, but later reinstated.
Ife campus politics was crazy.

@SirJarus I joined OAU during Elegbede Muhammed (MM).there is no way you will listen to those guys and you won't hate school management but unfortunate majority of them were in bed with the management. I am surprised most big names in oau politics then are not core politicians today.

In Lagos State, a “solar permit” doesn’t mean everyone must pay government before using solar. The reality is more specific and a bit misunderstood.
A solar permit (or approval) in Lagos simply means:
-You must get government approval before installing solar panels IF your building falls under certain regulated structures (especially government housing estates).
Where a solar permit is REQUIRED
If you live in:
-Government-owned housing estates
-State-built flats or social housing
Then:
Solar installation is treated as a structural alteration.
You must:
-Apply to the Ministry of Housing
-Get approval
-Possibly pay an administrative fee
-Allow inspection before/after installation
This is because:
Buildings are shared infrastructure
Roofs, wiring, and structure affect other residents.
Poor installations have caused fires and roof damage in the past.
Where a solar permit is NOT required
If you live in:
-A private house
-A privately owned duplex or apartment
You generally do NOT need a solar permit from Lagos State Government.
The government has clearly stated:
The permit/fee issue only applies to state-owned estates.
It is NOT a general law for all Lagos residents.
