Of course I expected the “you’re talking about yourself!” comments. To some extent, yeah. I felt myself getting too repetitive on my show so we switched the format pretty drastically and started doing much more in depth analysis of a single topic per show. We’ve covered a very wide range of topics over the past few months, and for the most part the audience has responded positively to it. We’ve had some shows that flopped in this format and some that have hit big. I’d prefer that over sticking to a boring formula that guarantees a moderate number of clicks every time. But I’ve also always tried to find different ways of approaching the material. That’s why I’ve made two movies and two series over the past few years. And I have some ideas for the future that are even more outside the box. You need to keep trying new things in this business or you’ll just shrivel up and die. At least that’s how I feel when I’m doing the same thing the same way for too long.

Absolutely true. Most right wing commentary in general now is boring as hell. Same takes, same arguments, same points repeated over and over and over again. Same personal squabbles. Same feuds and fights. Tedious. Redundant. The audience is bored to death and rightly so.
Cernovich@Cernovich

Right now almost every "MAGA" account is slop. Zero personality. It's all a rush to post the same clips from cable news and add a formulaic BREAKING headline. Maybe that makes money via engagement. It's tedious. AI is winning. I don't see many humans on this site anymore.

@SawyerMerritt @Starlink Do you seriously believe that high-speed wifi ranks high up there in things people consider when choosing which airline to fly on? I mean would be nice to have it on a flight, but I doubt it plays into people's decision making process.

Delta rejected adopting SpaceX's @Starlink on its fleet because it wanted to provide internet connectivity to passengers via the Delta Sync portal, instead of the Starlink-branded portal. Delta has since chosen to partner with Amazon's LEO. This will result in Delta falling behind many of its competitors in offering high-speed WiFi onboard, as many other carriers are already offering or installing Starlink, whereas Amazon's LEO airplane WiFi for Delta is still a couple year away (or more). Satellites currently in orbit: • SpaceX's Starlink: 10,400 • Amazon's LEO: 300 (Delta rejection info according to Ron Baron)

Look, pro-homeschooling people are piling on this guy but he's not wrong at all. I know of families who are straight-up failing to teach their children beyond a 2nd-grade education. Like 16-year-old kids who don't know what the Capital of the US is, have never heard of Toronto, and could not perform a basic algebra problem. While it's true that there are many excellent homeschooling families whose instruction far exceeds that of any public school, the fact is that the American system of "school your kids however you want" does also yield a lot of severely stunted kids who get stuck playing "catch-up" for the rest of their lives. My wife was homeschooled, we might homeschool, I'm not averse to the practice per se, but it's a fact that there's a whole world of multi-generational homeschoolers who are not and will not rise above a 2nd or 3rd grade education level by their own volition. Should the state intervene in these cases? I dunno, the answer to the question is not as "easy" as many make it out to be. The idea of barely getting through 'Mary Had a Little Lamb' at the age of 16 should be appalling, and it IS happening in some American homeschooler families.
Just Jim@JimsTweets

Do Homeschool kids just like, not have to take tests or exams or get grades? How does the government know if the child is actually getting an education and not just like, being neglected

@ChristinaPushaw @shagbark_hick Getting a useless degree then expecting it to lead to a job was always a lie. Those with good/useful degrees got jobs. There were some segments with tough markets for sure but persistence pays off.

I remember that year, I was already in college. The white-collar job market was a catastrophe at the time too. We were always hearing about college graduates with degrees from good schools who applied to 1000 jobs and the best they could find was part-time hours at a coffee shop. Can't blame anyone who decided to drop out of society, as long as you're self-sufficient it is no skin off my back.

Think about it: You're 17 years old. It's 2011. Everyone is asking what "your plan" is after you finish High School. All the adults you know who work jobs are miserable. They all work at Wal-Mart distribution, the psych center, the prison. Guys work themselves to the bone, develop serious back problems, wind up on pain meds, and the whole scene is heinously awful. All of them tell you: "don't be like me, don't do this." There are the much-vaunted "state jobs" but you know you can't get one unless you know somebody, which you don't. The Iraq War has been dragging on for no real reason for years. All the veterans you know from your hometown are cynical, tell you not to join, that it's all a grift for the CIA to get into the opium trade, etc. And college? The idea seems crazy; you go to "Thirteenth Grade" in order to someday get the dubious privilege of sitting in an office, asking for vacation days, pushing pencils at a desk? It shouldn't really be a shock that I and many others my age chose to drop out of society to live without a job, a car, savings, insurance, ID, or a bank account for most of my adult life. The alternatives all appeared to be absolute garbage. When society sucks, people can and do drop out of society, and I do not regret that I chose to do that. Had you been in my shoes, you might well have done the same thing.

the CATO Institute.. a libertarian think tank funded by the Koch brothers.. just published a study showing immigrants paid more in taxes than they received in benefits every single year from 1994 to 2023.. not a left-wing university.. not a Democratic PAC.. the Koch brothers' own research institute.. they reduced the deficit by $14.5 trillion over 30 years.. they earn less per hour but work at higher rates.. which means higher per capita income.. which means higher taxes paid.. the country spent 30 years being told immigrants were draining the system.. turns out they were funding it.. and the people who told you that knew the numbers the whole time
Leading Report@LeadingReport

Immigrants generate more income and taxes than the average person, per CATO Institute.

As predicted, MAGA is coming for gay rights now that the public is getting exhausted with their obsession with trans women. And they’re doing it with the same tactics. Make them out to be sexual predators and fearmonger about children. I will stand with gay rights, though frankly many of you don’t deserve the support given your apathy to my access to public life.
Katy Faust@Katy_Faust

Yep. Gay surrogacy does get more attention because the children don't just lose their birth mother, they lose their genetic mother and are purposefully starved of daily maternal love. They're also at greater risk of abuse because they are always raised by at least one (if not two) unrelated men- statistically, the most dangerous person in a child's life. But there are myriad accounts decrying surrogacy for everyone. @SurrogConcern @CasaDeclaration @maurel_olivia @JenniferLahl @kal_fell It commodifies children and severs the primal bond they have with their birth mother. It's always an injustice against children. Even when heterosexuals do it.

@elonmusk Economics 101 and human nature says this is not possible. Not everyone can have a beach house with an ocean view, not everyone can live on the corner lot. Even if robots can procure things it still takes natural resources (lithium etc) that is not endless or perfect.

Can anyone recommend a Protestant podcaster who offers an apologia of our theology against Catholic theology who is a clear creationist—six days, global flood? I know there are some who do this who are local flood, symbolic creation type of people and I’m not interested in them. If it’s someone, for example, who would promote Biologos and Francis Collins or work with Biologos, I don’t want that guy. Is there anyone like this?

You mean a video series specifically on Roman Catholic claims? I've done about fifty debates against their leading apologists back to 1990, and we have gone pretty in-depth on the Papacy, Mass, priesthoods, scriptural authority, over the years. Our website now has a page that allows you to search like 3,000 Dividing Line episodes by key word. Sorta depends on what specific topic you are looking at.
