@CooperGoede Understandable 😂 For me it’s like 90% him 8% to see if Dieng progresses and 2% to see what we have in Cormac and Nance lol

@dlee4three Was critical of the initial thread, but this video outlines everything super well. It’s a complex topic and a video probably suits it better. Loved it

The Bucks constantly whiffing on their late 1st round picks complicated their ability to contend past 2021 far before their unfortunate injuries Each miss led to another costly attempt to surround Giannis with talent & widened the gap between the NBA’s other contenders

Which teams have cultivated the most (and least wins) from drafted + UDFA in the last 5 years? Milwaukee has accumulated the 3rd fewest wins contributed from players who BEGAN their career with the Bucks since their championship in 2021…

@dlee4three @finleykuehl Also, as a side note, the suns are wildly interesting to me, and this data furthers that. They’ve had their team deteriorate around them, had to do the same waive and stretch as the bucks, have dealt with injuries this year, are bad on the margins, and are a playoff team. Wild

@dlee4three @finleykuehl Tbf, you *did* infer you were answering that question in the sentence screenshotted I appreciate your data- I just think your theme could have been centered around the higher risk of going all in w/the new CBA. You CAN have success if you fail marginally, but the risk is extreme

@dlee4three @finleykuehl The bucks, however, do not fit any of these categories. They went all in, are bad on the margins, and are bad. Hmm…why is that? 🤔 You’re not inferring an accurate/specific enough conclusion to your data

@dlee4three @finleykuehl I mean, looking at the latest graph you posted, there are basically 3 types of teams- teams that went all in, are good on the margins, and are good- teams that went all in, are bad on the margins, and are good- teams that did not go all in, are bad on the margins, and are bad.

@dlee4three @finleykuehl x.com/TomDaly28/stat… Middleton and Dame suffered career-altering injuries. The context is more “the Knicks would be the bucks if Bridges and OG suffered career altering injuries” rather than “the bucks are the kings and bulls”
Tom🦌@TomDaly28

@finleykuehl @dlee4three Like, if anunoby and bridges suffered career altering injuries, would we be blaming the Knicks drafting for them being bad for the next 5-7 years? Maybe partially, but it certainly would be ridiculous to point to that as the main reason

@finleykuehl @dlee4three No, but they have only had 2 FRPs (mid 20’s) (& 4 total picks!) since 2020 The story of the bucks is simple: Career altering injuries & a failure in coaching hires. The drafting thing comes third, but it’s definitely overblown. This chart actually proves that in a weird way lol

@Bucks_Breakdown @bigunitroessler A. None of the data shown on any of these charts counts for all of what you’d consider “margins” I.e. moves like Rollins, nance, KPJ. B. The data really doesn’t seem to have much correlation with team success.

@finleykuehl @dlee4three Yeah the first chart kinda just feels like data for data’s sake. It doesn’t account for those margins or volume of draft capital. It barely, if at all, seems to correlate with success GSW/MEM/NO/SAC at or well above Denver. LC/MN/NYK at or below CHI/SAC/MKE

@TomDaly28 @dlee4three It's guys who began their careers with the team. So Rollins would count for Golden State and Pete for Cleveland I believe

@dlee4three Also, does this really show correlation w/success? LAC/MN/NYN all 2nd-tier contenders, all w/the same or worse value than the MKE/SAC/CHI Bucks went all in on a premier asset who tore his achilles and became a negative contract. I don’t feel like a chart is needed to show that

@dlee4three Does this chart account for guys like Rollins, Pete nance, etc- guys who are picked up from other team’s “scrap” piles? Or just strictly drafted or UDFA rookies?

@lohausfan @RyanLucas_LA x.com/TomDaly28/stat… This thread is how I feel, and it’s how I think Bucks fans should approach this entire situation.
Tom🦌@TomDaly28

@RyanLucas_LA @lohausfan Shams is doing his job- and I don’t think he’s lying! but he’s really not doing his job well. Why doesn’t the rest of the media hold Shams accountable for concrete reports?? His reporting can’t be “true” or “false” due to how vague it is. The reports out of the summer- we have

@RyanLucas_LA @lohausfan Giannis posted “who else misses Woj?”, had subliminal messaging after the deadline, joked he was going to trade shams at the celebrity ASG, and Thanasis had a special post deadline podcast titled “what happened to integrity?” An explanation like the one above makes the most sense

Is it just me, or is Shams editorializing this to make the Bucks look bad? Kinda reads like "the Bucks are making a cold decision, they're so cruel, what is wrong with this organization?" Also, he's been the Bucks for a month and a half. "Just weeks?"
