@stillDCFamily @1067theFan Dawkins was an intern in Seattle when rookie Durant was drafted. He and Michael Winger were both with KD in OKC, as well. They know him really really well, and he respects them back. Not saying it happens, but there’s history there. Solid history.

Another great anecdote:
Dawkins created what they call “decimal meetings” where every 10 games a player would meet privately in a room with 10 to 12 staffers: at least one each from mental health, physical fitness, culinary, nutrition, health and wellness, coaching, skill development, management, etc.
“The first time is always a shock,” Winger says. “They’re ‘Oh shit, am I in trouble?’… But after that, they realize this is not an undressing. This is a buildup meeting.”
