What am I missing?
While there are plenty of bunkers out there that could land on most golfers’ lists of the deepest and most treacherous, here we spotlight eight that are bound to strike fear in the hearts of players all around the world.

@93111golfer1@LINKSMagazine I hadn’t posted on X for several weeks, due to the last trial I faced with you. I thought maybe I could have some fun again. Guess not. So… back into hiding I go.
@TomHuckaby@LINKSMagazine Tom. Sand Hills has wonderful bunkers. Some of the world’s best. Look at the title of the piece. You don’t have to act so hurt every time someone writes something that doesn’t include your beloved in its list of whatever it is.
🚨🚨🚨#GOLFCHAT QUESTION #5🚨🚨🚨
I visited the Taj Mahal yesterday, one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
What are your 7 "Wonders of the World of Golf" that you'd like to play or visit? #GolfChat
@93111golfer1@Top100Rick Well, I guess I’ve learned my lesson X is no longer safe for me either. Might be a bummer for the good people. I’ve met from here but oh well. I need to try my best to stay the hell off of forums like this.
Ladera Golf Club
2023 - Gil Hanse & Jim Wagner
#83/Top 100
Private
One of the most exclusive clubs in the country, Ladera was founded by music legend Irving Azoff and Apple Exec Eddie Cue with the goal of being one of the best golf experiences on the planet.
Well, they did it. Ladera is unbelievable.
It’s a desert golf course like no other. No housing to look at. No water hazards. No cart paths. It’s truly one of the most tranquil and scenic walks in golf. The silence is incredible.
The golf is fun and strategic. It’s extremely wide, some of the widest fairways you will find. But Gil and Jim made sure the drives matter with great use of angles and bunkering. Try to be too safe and you can add 30 yards to your approach. Too risky and lost in an arroyo.
The greens are the star. Big, bold, highly contoured. It’s hard to imagine having more fun. The contours and surrounds on holes 14-17 are a highlight, with 15 being one of the coolest modern holes I’ve played…a devilish 300 yard par 4 that can give you fits even in the fairway…if on the wrong side.
The land was desert and a lemon grove before they got here. The natural looking areas are often anything but, Gil and Jim moved millions of cubic feet of dirt to create the landscape and yet the arroyos all look like they are part of nature.
The conditions are simply perfect. It will be compared to Augusta no doubt, not a blade of grass is out of place. The native grass has matured beautifully and is absolutely gorgeous. The turf has to be seen to understand its perfection.
The staff is incredible and welcoming, the service is amazing. The pros are all helpful and happy to help in any way they can. The food is great and of course the comfort stations are well stocked. Everything is top notch.
Ladera is truly one of the most unique places in all of golf. It checks every box and creates some boxes of its own. It’s an amazing example of what can happen when capable people align with a great vision.
A magical day with great people. Beyond blessed.
@93111golfer1@Top100Rick In that case, it was directed to a specific person who wrote a great article I didn’t think the whole world would see it and I wanted to have some credibility in my praise for the man is that OK? Will you finally get off my back?
@TomHuckaby@Top100Rick You are correct. It was a poor assumption that an email sent to every panelist was received. That was a false statement about you that I should not have made. I certainly didn’t say it maliciously. Sorry you feel you have to defend yourself.
@93111golfer1@Top100Rick Thanks for revealing that to the world Jim. Yeah I haven’t been secretive about it, but I also don’t advertise.
In any case, you would think it would work that way it does not for me. Please believe me and leave me alone. You do not know my life.
@TomHuckaby@Top100Rick You are blessed to be a member of Sand Hills Golf Club. You are that graciously. There are plenty of people who would like to return that favor. And the best part? You don’t have to beg. Do you make others beg when you host them? I don’t think so.
@93111golfer1@Top100Rick For the third time….
I did NOT get said email.
I have very little network.
And yes I do have to beg.
Jim, you think you know my realities . You don’t.
@TomHuckaby@Top100Rick “Falsehood”? I’m truly sorry Tom. What I said.
You got an email
You have a network
You don’t have to beg that network to play nice places.
@TomHuckaby@Top100Rick Tom. You’re a GD rater. We all got the same email. I’m not assuming anything about you other than you chose not to read it or respond I guess.
@93111golfer1@Top100Rick Wrong! I never received such email and only found out about the outing after the fact. Why are you assume you know everything about me remains a mystery.
@93111golfer1@Top100Rick Rater card is zero help. I appreciate the thought about my massive network, but you severely over rate that. And no matter what all of that requires the type of begging with which I am not comfortable. But thanks for checking in. 😀
@TomHuckaby@Top100Rick Pretty sure we’ve texted about it or discussed it in our mutual online discussion forum. Don’t be coy. You have the rater card and a network of club memberships to help. Including virtual clubs.
@TomHuckaby Good morning Tom. Yes, us. Been a season ticket holder for 10 yrs. The university has received plenty of my money. Fans are we and us. No diff than being a fan of a pro sports team and saying we and us. Try and have a Merry Christmas my friend. Keep the grinch locked away. 😉
For all those that say ND is scared, listen to this. KJ knows the truth. ND isn’t the one that won’t extend the series. USC refuses to play us in November like it’s always been just the same as OSU/Mich and other rivalries.
