JUST IN: John Eastman, the conservative attorney who helped devise President Trump's last ditch strategy to overturn the 2020 presidential election, has officially been disbarred, per the California Supreme Court.:

Alito doing all he can to help the Trump admin in this oral argument on the 14th Amendment and birthright citizenship.

Because they are largely funded via OBBB through 2029 and we’re going to try to give them more funding via reconciliation, which wouldn’t require any Dem votes. But that’s a difficult process to pull off and there’s no guarantee. But that would’ve given Dems cover to tell their base they didn’t fund ICE.

DHS funding deal is falling apart. Senate GOP offered to fund all of DHS, except ICE’s deportation wing (ERO). Dems just countered and demanded additional concessions, they want major ICE reforms (unmasking, judicial warrants, etc). GOP says why would we agree to reforms for an agency being defunded? Dems had an offer on the table to carve out ICE’s removal operations, and fund everything else within DHS, and they are saying no. They are demanding ICE reforms for an agency they aren’t going to fund. GOP saying no. And the shutdown continues - now on day 40.

I’m sorry, what … SCOTUS summarily reverses denial of qualified immunity (3 liberals dissent) b/c apparently using a specific pain compliance technique on passive protestors is *too broad* a principle to clearly establish that it violates the Constitution. HUGE QI step backwards
