The only time PO (KO now) won a presidential election (i.e. 2010) was when it held primaries (Komorowski vs Sikorski after Tusk declined to run)...every other time their candidate lost to PIS's candidate (Lech Kaczyński & Andrzej Duda) so there's that too...

This has come as a surprise (reportedly even to Sikorski) and I suspect that this week's defeat of Kamala Harris - a candidate who was anointed rather than being chosen in primaries - was a factor in the sudden decision

I saved this headline for lolz 4yrs ago, but now it’s less clear who the joke is on. Bulgaria just held parliamentary elections, the results are widely accepted, and the fascist who wants to leave NATO and work w Pu got only 13% of the votes and has no chance of governing.
