@SwipeWright @John_Dickinson3 Applying the term 'woke right' to those who criticize Israel is Orwellian. Those who proclaim that it's antisemitic to criticize Israel (a large subset of the "protected class" of Jews) are the woke ones. Those who dare to criticize Israel are, if anything, anti-woke.

@SwipeWright 38 states have passed anti-BDS laws designed to penalize individuals and companies that participate in, or advocate for, economic boycotts against Israel. Are there any such laws that threaten those who criticize Iran, China, or Russia?

@dardanidae1 Plenty of countries lobby for their own interests in the USA with much more money and to much greater effect. There are no laws that prevent Americans from criticizing Israel.

@atrupar Phillip Esformes ran a network of nursing homes that he used to perpetrate a massive Medicaid fraud scheme involving about $1.3 billion in fraudulent claims. In December 2020, Trump commuted his sentence upon suggestion by Jared Kushner and the Aleph Institute.

It’s not an antisemitic conspiracy theory when a foreign lobby openly brags that they bought two congressional seats with candidates who will be loyal to Israel.

@TheMattumanu @SwipeWright Sex discrimination is simply differential treatment of individuals on the basis of sex. So, sure, any rule that says males are allowed to do X but females are not (or vice versa) is by definition sexually discriminatory. Whether the rule is good or bad is different question.

@TomSaylor4 @SwipeWright No. Is a women’s room discrimination? How about an all girls school? Groups for mothers? Women’s sports? My guess is you’re going to say yes.

"Roxanne Tickle has been awarded $20,000 in damages in the case against the Giggle for Girls app and its CEO Sall Grover." What an absolute joke. Especially since, regardless of what the court says, Roxanne Tickle is and will always be a man.

@TheMattumanu @SwipeWright But if Giggle restricts access to women only, explicitly prohibiting men from accessing the app, isn't Giggle thereby discriminating on the basis of sex?

Yale discriminated against Asians and Whites in favor of Blacks and Hispanics: — Hispanic candidates in the 6th decile had a higher chance of admission than the most qualified Asian and White candidates in the 10th decile. — Black candidates in the 5th academic decile had a higher chance of admission than the most qualified Asian and White candidates in the 10th decile.

I have never seen anyone on here explain what’s ACTUALLY wrong with Tucker. He’s incredibly good with words and incredibly bad with logic. That’s actually true of many, many successful pundits. It tricks us as listeners, because we associate certainty and fluidity with correctness. I saw it up close when I helped a journalist write a story on an Obama associate who carefully bought enough books to land on the NYTimes bestseller list. Tucker did a segment on it on Fox and got every salient point from the article incorrect. He’d clearly read the article, but couldn’t actually understand it. His segment was an attack on the NYT for including a book that registered almost zero sales as a favor to Obama. His version was told and compelling but didn’t even make sense if you had read the article it was based on.

Tucker claims the words "could this be the antichrist?" never left his lips. NYT shows a clip of him saying exactly that:

@EddieJamesTips @peterboghossian If someone adopts a belief because a favored group holds that belief, he has in fact formed his belief on the basis of evidence: his evidence is the fact that people he respects hold the belief. That may not be evidence that you or I would credit, but it's evidence nonetheless.

Noted. You're right. And, so am I. In theory the question is perfect but in practice using it, my strike rate is zero. Not because I'm inarticulate: because on economics, Israel, and the idea that every white person is racist, almost nobody I encounter reasoned their way into their position. They absorbed it and now they perform it. Every pat on the back is a loyalty signal: not an argument. The question "what evidence would change your mind?" assumes the belief was formed by evidence. It wasn't. It was formed by a need to belong. I'm not saying everyone who disagrees with me is in a cult. I'm saying the method hits a wall when the belief was never reasoned into in the first place.

Five Socratic-based questions to improve your thinking. 1/2 5. What would it take to change your mind? Be specific. 4. If your best reason for believing that was false, would you still believe? (That's called a "real reason check".)

"His anti-Semitic thoughts are so abhorrent…" MS NOW's Jon Lemire and actor John Lithgow smear the late Roald Dahl while promoting Mark Rosenblatt's new trash Broadway play about his "anti-Semitism."
B.M.@ireallyhateyou

Wow. Everyone should read this 1983 article by Roald Dahl. Every word of it. It's literally the same fucking shit as now, with the same kind of impunity, only now it's even much worse. He called it. He fucking called it and they just ignored him and called him an antisemite.
