@JezClein Lacked consistency at times but that’s what you get from flair players like this. I remember the 2-2 draw away at White Lane, he scored a fantastic goal to level.

@vinerbrian Barry didn’t seem to get up to speed at all. Normally better with his hold up play. That’s what we needed at that point in the game.

Unjust scoreline. Fine performance by EFC, superbly-drilled in defence, had better chances to score. Desperately need more quality than Beto and Barry up top but otherwise we look like a top-eight side at last 💙

Is it too crazy to say that was one of our best performances this season? #EFC

Jordan Pickford’s consistent excellence is still a little overlooked, I reckon. This year he will likely become the longest-serving undisputed England No. 1 in history. He’s been at peak performance for almost half a decade. Column. inews.co.uk/sport/football…

@Paddy_Boyland From the get go, where he beat Elanga to a through ball it was clear we need him at CB.

Jarrad Branthwaite makes a massive difference at centre back. Better Mykolenko when he's next to him

@Tom_Challinor We scored a couple of lucky goals, but fair play we took advantage of Newcastle switching off. Let’s see the same at home now. I just hope we haven’t wasted £40m odd on Dibling

Jordan Pickford mate. How many times do we say every season? I thought that double save against Chelsea was the best I’d seen, that one today tops it! UNREAL

@WD1878 Where I don’t agree with Moyes is playing McNeil ahead of Dibling. The lad needs a run of games now. McNeil offered nothing again today did he.

@WD1878 Erm, don’t think I did but if you say so. No it’s not a long term selection. But imo he sees a chance here, in season 2025 that we can nick a Euro spot?

@Tom_Challinor Mate, you’ve sent me 3 tweets today, and deleted one when it went 1-1. I’m not opposed to Moyes as manager, I want him to stay, but it’s ok to criticise his decisions while still wanting him.

Nothing sends a clearer message about accountability and/or the idea that if you “do more with your opportunities, you’ll play” to the rest of the squad quite like starting Dwight McNeil. #EFC

@WD1878 Away results speak for themselves. Perhaps Moyes is thinking longer term in that a higher league finish with possible Europe benefits us. With Dibling, he’s thinking next season.

Whether it’s another defeat, or it’s one of those where we scrape a win and everyone says afterwards “where’s everyone who criticised the team?” that is quite simply a starting XI that is uninspiring. Bored of players who lose games keeping their place ahead of young prospects.

@JezClein Perhaps not but equally. Mbuemo can outpace most players in the PL. If Brantwaite plays CB, we play a LB who you’ve quite rightly pointed out is a very poor player. Could Moyes turn around and bring such quality off the bench?

@Tom_Challinor What decided the game was our best players playing out of position Does Branthwaite get outpaced like Tarkowski did ?

almost 12 months ago to the day we hustled and harried Man Utd at Goodison Now with millions spent on mostly attacking players we play 5 centre midfielders and are frightened to cross the half way line We play not to lose We never play to win Take me back 12 months please

Tyler Dibling Only 19. At the same age Grealish was on loan at Notts County, Beckham at Preston and Dewsbury-Hall Blackpool then Luton, a few examples. Price tag not his fault obviously has potential. Big move from his home and under pressure to hit ground running. Patience

There's no reason for Dibling not to shoot, there. You can make all the excuses you want - he came on and he played well - but that's the moment. You're a PL footballer, back yourself.

Jake O’Brien is a quality centre back. I’ve said it a few times in recent months, but him alongside Branthwaite should be our first choice pairing by end of season/start of next. #EFC
