I’ve been thinking about the bifurcation happening in the job market right now: Group 1 — people who direct agents (Claude Code, Codex, Devin) Group 2 — people who mainly chat with bots (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity) The gap doesn’t feel like it’s about which tools you use. It’s about mindset. “Agent wrangler” is starting to look like a real role. Engineering judgment plus agent orchestration is quickly becoming a new signal of seniority.

Totally agree, Tommy. AI is giving us infinite velocity, but it’s also exposing a harsh truth: the pager still rings for the person who shipped it, not the model that wrote it. I’ve watched “vibe-coded” features go live looking perfect in the Cursor window, only to create 3 a.m. incidents because nobody owned the mental model behind the abstractions. The real power move isn’t using AI to think less, it’s using it to think deeper and faster on the parts that actually matter (architecture, trade-offs, edge cases). Cursor + v0 are incredible for that when treated as a world-class pair programmer instead of a code vending machine. Question for you as Cursor Ambassador: what’s the single highest-leverage habit you’ve seen devs adopt to avoid the “vibe coding → production regret” cycle? Would love your take 👀

I’m increasingly skeptical of the “AI means we should think less about code” narrative. What I’m seeing is AI-generated code turning into a real liability in practice. Someone still has to own what ships and carry the pager when it breaks, regardless of whether the code came from a human or an agent. The backlash to “vibe coding” feels inevitable. More code doesn’t automatically mean better outcomes, and treating less thinking as progress is a mistake.
