Dear @Publix Your pharmacist at Publix Pharmacy #1506 will not fill a prescription for a controlled pain medication for a patient because: 1) The patient doesn’t look “sick enough” to be receiving palliative care, and… 2) The pharmacist doesn’t actually understand the definition of palliative care. Please help fix this unacceptable situation ASAP.

@ChadDKollas @Publix Pharmacists should be treated as glorified pill dispensers who should only be checking stock and verifying the authenticity of the script. Brick and mortar couldn't keep up but this is the replacement?

Wrong. In California the board took actions against pharmacists including suspending licenses for pharmacists who filled ivermectin for Covid. Doesn’t matter what the dr said the board still punished pharmacists. In Florida, pharmacists are allowed to refuse on the grounds of professional judgment, ethical, moral, or behavioral concerns.

@AmberGirl3 @KeithNewton @ChadDKollas @Publix There’s more to it than “political opinion” in California, the California board of pharmacy would take action against pharmacists who filled rxs for hydroxychloroquine or ivermectin for Covid.

I saw a lot of this in my state when doctors wrote scripts for HCL during covid only to have pharmacists refuse to fill it. Not because it was contraindicated, but because of political reasons. My Uncle was a pharmacist, if he caught something, he called the doctor. Refusing a prescribed medication because of his personal views never entered the picture.
