@Travis_in_Flint I don’t know who Trump has or hasn’t sexually harassed or raped. What I do know based upon what my eyes have seen and my ears have heard is that he is a disgusting, vile person.

Best I can tell this woman never taught or was never a school administrator a day in her life. Though she was staff for a state senator and also a lobbyist, her entire career has been about working against public education. Guess that tracks for @GovBillLee. 🙄

WATCH: “Any thoughts on if there should be accountability attached to @GovBillLee’s private school voucher expansion?” Lee’s new @TNedu commissioner struggled mightily👇🏽🫤 to answer our basic Q— which is why many local districts oppose the (privatization) plan. #LeesVoucherScam

@debhow1 @VoteGloriaJ Please explain why you think this is the public school’s fault. I work in a public school and have seen no evidence to back up your statement in the 27 years I’ve taught in TN.

@TonosNeely @AmyFrogge term limits for congress is a start. I watched the Waco documentary on Netflix the other night, Waco happened in 1993 and they showed congressional hearings on it and dang if the same clowns there then are still there today

The third-grade retention bill is part of the national school privatization playbook. It’s NOT about reading proficiency. Third graders who actually read well are being held back based on flawed and manipulated tests. Here’s why: tnpubliced.com/dont-believe-c

@georgeforbis @AmyFrogge It’s at all levels. But what else do you propose a country this size do for some sort of governance?

@georgeforbis @AmyFrogge With our current state government, yes I agree. That’s why I will not choose to support most of the current people running our state government with my vote in the future.

@TonosNeely @AmyFrogge Have no issue with that at all but you’re also making my point in that when government gets involved (and this is from both political parties) ridiculousness occurs because they all insert their agendas in the expectations

@georgeforbis @AmyFrogge Only if those private schools are held accountable for the same things public schools are accountable for such as the state testing and the ridiculous expectations put on public schools.

@georgeforbis @AmyFrogge I’m not against choice at all! My parents chose to send me to a private school as a kid. I chose to have my kids attend public K-12 schools. My daughter graduated from a private college and my son graduated from a public college. I choose to teach in a public school.

@TonosNeely @AmyFrogge well Neely that's great for you but ask many families, especially minority families how their schools have performed for them and if they'd like the choice to send their kids somewhere they choose. Funny how everyone all the sudden is against choice lol

@georgeforbis @AmyFrogge It’s so ruined that both of my kids attended college completely on scholarship money and now both have a job right out of college. Guess those public schools ruined their lives.🙄

@UnsilntPatriot @VoteGloriaJ Should parents still be allowed to take children to a movie that is not rated for their age? Guess the state needs to regulate parenting in all situations now.🙄

And the hate-filled maga supermajority couldn’t be happier. They are terrified of anyone who believes or behaves differently than they do. Did we mention our Governor’s sister is married to a woman? Imagine caring so little for your own family.
Justice Horn@JusticeHorn_

I’ve been on national calls all morning and it sadly looks like Tennessee will be the first state to sign into law a drag ban—the bill is heading to the governor’s desk. My heart goes out to the Tennessee LGBTQ+ who will be impacted by this harm. thehill.com/homenews/38715…

Schools are for education, NOT indoctrination. We must reform curriculum, get kids back to the basics of learning, and empower parents to choose the best school for their child through education freedom.

@TonosNeely @VoteGloriaJ Those are fair points to consider. I would ask, is that going off the assumption that privs only work at or near 40 hrs? If you can provide some source material for your points, I would be happy to read. I'm always open to having my mind changed & learn something new.

Teachers are getting an approximate $50 a month raise, they will still be making less than they did 10 years ago. I’m not standing for that, when legislators voted themselves a $500 a month raise this year.

@WTH_News_Net @VoteGloriaJ Most of my friends who work for the private sector do work 40 hour weeks unless they are the actual owner of a business. They get overtime when they work longer or cover for their coworkers. We don’t get paid for the extra hours of work put into the job.

@WTH_News_Net @VoteGloriaJ If you were to compare the number of hours most teachers put into their job to those in the private sector, it is close to the same amount of time, even with those holidays and the two months of summer. We also have to get inservice hours and training during those “off” days.
