The speed limit for motorways / dual carriageways should be 60mph. Safer and more fuel efficient than driving at 70mph and, at a mile a minute, easy to estimate journey times.

@TonyB_1997 @exRAF_Al Not really, they're still being pre-registered in droves and then dumped at a whopping discount, which then ruins the values of ones previously registered, and occasionally sold or leased. Germany and US removed subsidies demand tanked. Some companies are exiting EVs altogether.

What other big things have rocked Europe in the last 5 years? War, Covid, Brexit… take your pick. Or maybe a bit of all of them.

@Morphington @exRAF_Al Subsidies might need to stay in place medium term to allow the motor industry to recover the many billions they have invested developing the technology. Doesn’t help anyone if they all end up bankrupt. But, mostly, electric cars can now stand their own ground in the market.
