They prefer to elevate mediocrity to the highest levels of government based on useless credentials then Americans who actually play a role in building our country.

You LITERALLY removed the TOILETS at your mansion to dodge property taxes… then ask others for courage. You’re worth $3.5 billion and you governed one of the most mismanaged states in America. Illinois is broke, bleeding residents, and drowning in unfunded pension obligations that YOUR party built over decades. You had power, Supermajority in the legislature. Every opportunity to make progress. No Trump to blame. No obstruction. Just you and your party, completely in charge of a great American state. And people left. By the hundreds of thousands. They’re not fleeing Donald Trump. They’re fleeing YOU. Your taxes. Your crime policies. Your schools. Your budget that exists entirely on borrowed time and borrowed money. So forgive me if I don’t take the tyranny speech seriously from the guy who uses government as a personal vanity project. You don’t oppose Trump because you love democracy. You oppose him because he’s the ONLY thing keeping you relevant. Without him as a villain, you’d have to answer for your own record… and that’s the one conversation you’ll do anything to avoid. THAT’S why you push back so hard. Because it’s the only play you have left.
