One of the greatest games in recent memory. Positivity in motion. Total football, total entertainment. Some of the best players in the world on view. Kvaratskhelia, Dembele, Doue, Kane, Olise, Luis Diaz, and others. A lot of talk about how fresh PSG and Bayern Munich players look. Dominate their leagues so can rest and rotate. Also helps they have a winter break. Two weeks in France. Three weeks in Germany. The English plough on through winter, of course. Food for thought for the Premier League after this feast of football. But football of this exceptional calibre and pace is also a mindset and philosophy. Encouraged by enlightened coaches. Good players told to go out there and express themselves. Little diving or dissent, just elite competitors getting on with the game. A great game. Encore 🙌 #PSGBAY

Breaking News: At least 14 people have been killed following a military raid on the village of Ndzerem-Nyam in Jakiri Subdivision, Northwest Region of Cameroon, in what residents describe as a chaotic and deadly confrontation between government forces and separatist fighters. The incident unfolded on Sunday as villagers gathered for a cultural festival that had reportedly been attended by armed Ambazonia separatists, commonly referred to as “Amba Boys.” According to local sources, the fighters had been present at the festival grounds since the previous day and had imposed restrictions, including banning the use of mobile phones. Acting on intelligence about their presence, government forces stormed the village during the festivities, triggering heavy gunfire and panic among residents. Many villagers fled into nearby bushes to escape the violence, leaving behind homes and belongings. An initial count by MMI News confirmed 11 deaths, but subsequent information from sources on the ground puts the toll at 14. While government sources maintain that those killed were separatist fighters, local accounts suggest that civilians may also have been caught in the crossfire. MMI News has not been able to independently verify the exact breakdown of casualties. Images shared from the scene show soldiers posing with what they describe as seized weapons and bodies of alleged fighters. Authorities say the operation led to the recovery of several firearms, including AK-47 rifles, a FAL rifle, Galil variants, and a pistol, along with ammunition, bulletproof vests, helmets, and other tactical equipment. Dozens of motorbikes—commonly used by separatist fighters—were also reportedly destroyed. However, residents allege that the military response went beyond targeting armed fighters. Sources report that several homes and motorbikes belonging to villagers were burned during the operation, raising concerns about collective punishment and the humanitarian toll on civilians. The number of injured remains unclear, as many residents are still in hiding and access to the area is limited. The incident underscores the persistent volatility in Cameroon’s Anglophone regions, where clashes between government forces and separatist groups continue to place civilian populations at significant risk—often in spaces that would traditionally be considered safe, such as community gatherings. MMI News will continue to monitor developments as more information becomes available. #MMINews

Most people are surprised when they hear I went from professional football to green chemistry. But to me, it was a natural transition. ⚽️👨🏽‍🔬 Growing up in the south of France, I was surrounded by nature and the sea from an early age. As my football career progressed, so did my awareness of global warming and the impact that different industries have on the environment and on our health. The products most of us use every day, from shampoos to cleaning products to paints, are still built on fossil-based ingredients. Changing that became my mission.🌱 In 2013, I co-founded GFBiochemicals to make everyday products safer and more sustainable using plant-based ingredients. Football prepared me for this journey more than I expected the discipline, the resilience, and what it truly means to be part of a team. But there is an important shift: as a player, you’re judged on your own performance. As a founder & CEO, your role is to lead and inspire your team, and to share success together. I spoke with Harvard Business Review France about my journey: the transition from international footballer to Green Chemistry entrepreneur, the challenge of building in a sector I came to as an outsider. Journalists in Cameroon have been warned to desist from reporting that will mar the Pope's visit. In a press conference in Yaounde with journalists, Joe Chebongkeng Kalabubse reiterated the need for professionalism, urging the press men and women to be peaceful. “This visit is an event of extraordinary significance, as we are all aware. These circumstances necessitate a constant effort to consolidate peace and social cohesion,” he said. Warning journalists and threatening them with sanctions if they report that the norms have not been respected has not been received well by many media people. Some have seen it as the National Communication Council trying to control and stifle media reporting. This comes as the government accredits over 300 journalists to cover the Pop's visit.
