Chris Wood es sin duda el mejor jugador de Oceanía de los últimos 15 años (desde Cahill, vamos) La pregunta es: que australiano conseguirá superarlo? Irankunda? Bos? Circati?

@mickyw78 @Tiffany_Salmond Nope, league is played in a few working class suburbs in Christchurch, and in Greymouth, but that's about it. The South Island is very much the heartland of rugby union in NZ.

The beginning of NZ rugby’s downfall was the Warriors 2023 peak season. For some reason a very anti-league nation decided rugby league was suddenly cooler than Union… I never thought I’d see the day but the shift was abrupt

Telegraph: They’ve sacked an All Blacks coach mid-contract for the first time, made a loss on broadcast revenue, junior participation is down as rugby league makes a raid, and they’re still without a CEO five months after Mark Robinson resigned. From the outside, it appears New Zealand Rugby is imploding. dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/rugby/ki…

@DannyDrinksWine One of greats, incredible film. Best depiction of the Nazis in cinema history. Only a German film made by Germans can get it right.

Remembering Bruno Ganz on his 86th birthday! Bruno Ganz on the criticism he received for his performance in 'Downfall' (2004) for "humanising" Hitler: "I am proud of what we did. People have tried to bring me down. They have tried to say that I am humanising Hitler, whatever that may mean. But I know what I did and I am proud. The genocide was such a big thing that people need a big symbol - as big as the event itself was, I am talking mainly about the six million Jews. I am not talking about destroying Europe; that is something people might have been able to deal with. Hitler must be seen as the very worst, the most evil man, and that is the only way you are allowed to show him. You need this perfect symbol of evil and if you alter that and say this man was, in some ways, an average man - he eats, he drinks, he kisses people he loves - then that disturbs people. What people need is for Hitler to actually represent evil itself. But what is evil itself? That means nothing to me. I have to perform a living human being. I can understand that someone like Wim Wenders may have a very advanced aesthetic position and may want the film to take a moral stance. I do not agree. We know how to judge Hitler. We don't need another film that condemns him. We already know where we stand on this. I mean there is certainly no sympathy for Hitler in the film." ICC is preparing a Flat Highway Pitch To Support India. This is Unreal Rigging and Cheating. Also ICC has not allowed New Zealand To Train Under The Floodlights and Gave Them Daytime Practice Session Instead. India Knows They Are As Good As Oman So They Are Cheating.Shame On Them

🚨 ICC CONTINUES TO FAVOUR INDIA 🚨 - The pitch for the T20 World Cup final is reportedly completely flat and IPL-style, which will clearly favour the Indian players. - This is a clear injustice to New Zealand, yet the ICC continues to show bias towards India. - India can't even win a single game without cheating or receiving favour from the ICC. 🤡

You're spot on with the nuances, TonyWrightNZ. The 2019 ODI WC final was tied at 241 after 50 overs and again after the super over (15 each). England won via the boundary count-back rule then in place (26-17; first and only use in a WC final, later scrapped). Umpire Kumar Dharmasena admitted the overthrow on Stokes was wrongly scored 6 runs (should've been 5), which helped force the tie. Harsh on NZ. ⌛

@grok @jmhindocha @ESPNcricinfo @grok, New Zealand actually drew the 2019 ODI WC, but the ICC handed England the trophy with a rule never used before or since, called a "boundary count-back". Also @grok, the umpires later admitted they gave England an extra run "by mistake", meaning NZ should've actually won.

@dannews I’ve still got PTSD from having to watch Soper and HDPA openly snogging each other at Friday drinks, not to mention the open shirt and twirling of the chest hair. Glad they found each other though! #soulmates

@michael_epps @DannyDrinksWine It’s already had the Arrow Video treatment in 4K, I went all in on the special edition and it is amazing. Two cuts of the film, a postcard from Shell Beach and even Dr Schreber’s business card. Probably the best 4K release of 2025, the image is incredible.

Alex Proyas on the Commercial failure of 'Dark City' (1998) & its similarities with 'The Matrix' (1999): "Interviewer: Are you surprised by how big a cult film it has become? Proyas: I was surprised it didn't achieve commercial success initially, but I'm happy it has had this long-lasting life after the fact. I was pretty disappointed the studio hadn't really managed to sell the movie in the way that they could have. I don't think they really knew what to make of it quite frankly. The studio put out a trailer that was quite clever. It was completely non-narrative, just music and imagery. The guys who made the trailer specifically wrote a piece of music for the trailer, and the whole thing felt handcrafted and definitely had a personality. I think people were genuinely impressed by it but it didn't explain to them what the movie was or give them an idea of the kind of experience they were going to get. I think it made audiences think it was some kind of a horror movie. As a result people kind of overlooked it in the theaters. I know 99% of the people who loved it and always ask me about it are people who saw it on video years later. How do you feel about the similarities the later 'The Matrix' (1999) has to 'Dark City' (1998)? If I answer that question honestly it sounds like sour grapes because obviously 'The Matrix' did better commercially than 'Dark City' did. 'Dark City' came out a year before 'The Matrix', one of my producers on 'Dark City' worked on 'The Matrix', and the Wachowskis saw 'Dark City' a good nine months before 'Dark City' came out in the theaters, so they had a good run at picking the more important cherries off the cake. I feel like it's a question I can't answer in any more detail than that, other than to say that maybe the Wachowskis should be asked the question rather than me." (Alex Proyas' interview with Paul Rowlands, 2017)
