@PaulTassi marketing yourself is the other half of the puzzle and arguably more difficult than creating the work. Alot of competition to even get a few people to see your creative work.

I may be in a bubble here, but I don't think this idea that genAI will start being more broadly accepted in creative projects has panned out, even as the tech has gotten technically better. There's just relentless hate for AI movie, game, written content, and there are essential no tangible successes with these sorts of things outside of the rare song that may trick people on Spotify. Mindsets don't seem to be changing much, if at all. Or they're even getting more critical. AI technical tool use is another story, but actual, generated creative ("creative") work remains ass

Auteurs love generative tools because they are obsessed with shipping. They want the story out of their heads and onto the screen, and they don’t care if the tool is a pencil or a GPU. Critics are obsessed with governance. They have no momentum of their own, so they use "the old process" as a fake metric for virtue. If your entire creative identity is defined by the rules you follow instead of the things you build, you aren't an artist. You're a referee.
