@trq212 Great write up. HTML is becoming the de-facto medium to communicate more complex ideas, for product overviews and roadmap discussions vs. the prior world of communicating these via a PPT presentation. Prototypes have value, but HTMLs are gaining a lot of popularity.

I consider it a massive failing of our education system that people do not know how to talk about a percent of a percent. This is more useful to most people than the pythagorean theorem, lets put it in the middle school curriculum! Here’s how to talk about changes in percentages the right way: 1. Basis Points (used in finance for precision) → The Fed raises rates from 5.00% to 5.25% = 25 bps (1 bp = 0.01%) Way cleaner than saying "0.25% increase." 2. Percentage Points (comparing two percentages) → Support goes from 45% to 55% = 10 percentage point increase or just "10 point increase" (how I say it) Not a 22% increase, this avoids confusion. 3. Percent (relative change from the original value) → Revenue grows from $100K to $120K = 20% increase This is how we measure growth, decline, or change over time. Now the tricky one: If churn drops from 10% to 8%: That’s a 2 percentage point drop But it’s also a 20% reduction in churn (2 is 20% of 10) Both are technically correct, but they mean different things. Use points for clarity, percent for relative improvement, and bps when precision matters. Don't yell at me for using bips when they are appropriate. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
