@SirJarus If there is anything an average Nigerian dreads, it's to admit that leadership is the problem. They will agree with you that everything else, even the followers, who are victims of misrule, is the problem, but never the leaders. It's pathetic.

I have seen people say our cultural and religious beliefs and practices are our main problem in Nigeria (& many parts of Africa in general). Things like this disprove that. These widespread beliefs have not stopped South Korea's progress as a nation. I hear things like these are common in Japan too. We just have terrible leadership problem in Africa. Cultural and religious beliefs have little to do with our backwardness.

10 superstitions I found interesting in South Korea 🇰🇷 1. Sleeping with an electric fan on overnight can supposedly kill you (“fan death”). 2. Writing someone’s name in red ink is considered bad luck because it symbolizes death. 3. The number 4 is often avoided because its pronunciation sounds similar to the word for “death.” That’s why some elevators use “F” instead of 4. 4. Whistling at night is believed to attract ghosts or snakes. 5. Dreams are taken surprisingly seriously — some people even use dream interpretations to choose lottery numbers. 6. Moving houses or starting important events on “lucky dates” is still common for many people. 7. Giving shoes as gifts can symbolize the person “walking away” from you. 8. Cutting nails at night was traditionally believed to attract evil spirits or bad luck. 9. Certain numbers, zodiac signs, and blood types are believed by some people to influence personality and compatibility. 10. Seeing certain dreams — like pigs — is considered a sign of incoming wealth or good fortune.

@Fabiannazalazar @ShakOnChart So it’s ok to portray Africans as people who live in huts and jungles only, right? Every continent has its problems. Even the country where you come from has its problems.

@ShakOnChart This is cultural appreciation at its finest. Africa isn't just concrete jungles and luxury—it's vibrant villages, joy, and soul. Shakira celebrating it doesn't erase progress, it honors roots. Cry about "stereotypes" while killing real heritage. Waka Waka energy forever. 🔥

@ShakOnChart This is not a representation of Africa. Stop the rubbish narratives. Most of us in Africa don’t live in huts.

I have four domestic staff: 2 nannies and 2 cleaners. Yesterday was my son’s birthday, and one of them, a visiting cleaner, came around. Though she was on shift, she bought a birthday gift and gifted my son. Now I want to repay her for this kind gesture, but I am stuck. Should I give her a raise or just maybe dash her something when paying her? If you were me, what’s the best way to pay back this kindness?

@AdesolaBlessin9 It’s not about if it’s worth it. Period products should be accessible. Even condoms are given out for free and sex is optional. Bringing “luxury” branding to Essential products like pads in a country experiencing period poverty is not cool. It’s supposed to be a mass market

REMY £| The Marketing Nest 🇬🇧 🇳🇬
Better she sells them individually and not as a package. What problem are you trying to solve with your product? The market is saturated, and one of the major problems is that pads are not affordable. In fact, some schools of thought say they should be free. How do you come in differently to solve that problem, not just as another aesthetically glorified product promotion? That’s how your brand has a purpose. A lot of Brand don’t think long term and that’s how you face problems or heard, they pack up. And don’t tell me, we are not their target audience please

@AdesolaBlessin9 The market will pay 15000 to 18000 for it. Anything higher than this range is too much and anything lower than this range is too small
