I am deeply concerned by the @scott_mills story, following his sacking by @BBC. Mills was allegedly investigated by the Metropolitan Police, with a file handed to the CPS who decided there was insufficient evidence to prosecute. If an individual can be investigated, cleared of prosecution due to insufficient evidence, & still face professional ruin, then we are entering dangerous territory. Institutions must be very careful not to substitute due process with reputational expediency. Justice cannot operate on suspicion alone, nor can fairness be preserved if allegations—untested in a court of law—are treated as proof. We must ask ourselves: are we upholding justice, or quietly dismantling it?

@GargoyleBeelz @KHarveyProctor @scott_mills @BBC Makes sense. I thought they sometimes confirmed if they were investigating. Funny then, as the mirror got hold of the story even though he hadn't originally been charged.

“I don’t understand why women don’t just report it if it really happened.” When I was 19, I reported mine. I had bruises. Hospital photos. Text messages of him apologizing the next morning. My friends drove me to the station because I could barely stop shaking. I thought evidence would make it simple. I thought truth would be enough. Months later, I was the one on trial. His lawyer printed my Instagram photos and held them up in court. Asked why I wore crop tops. Asked why I drank that night. Asked why I didn’t scream louder. He replayed my police interview and pointed out every time I hesitated, every time I cried, every time my timeline wasn’t perfectly linear. “If it was traumatic,” he said, “why can’t she remember clearly?” Sitting there while strangers debated my pain like it was a group project felt like being stripped again. My messages were projected on a screen. My body was described in detail. My character was picked apart like that was the real crime. He walked out on bail. I walked out with panic attacks. That’s why some women don’t report. Because even with bruises. Even with screenshots. Even when you do everything “right.” You still have to survive the assault twice, once in private, and once in public, just to maybe be believed.

If a dog can be put to sleep for hurting a child, so should a pedophile.

@MarioNawfal I maybe wouldn't have but my mum bruises like this for the same reason so I see it first hand. Honestly, the slightest knock and it's a really black bruise almost straight away. (She's 79 so I think age is a factor,too).

@neilrobertscdf @RupertLowe10 2021 was the year that Plaid got in to bed with Welsh Labour because they weren't the majority government. So their manifesto wasn't exactly convincing the people was Wales. Was it?!

A vast number of Welsh patriots want the Senedd abolished - I entirely agree. Seats soaring from 60 to 96, costing an extra £19 million a year? What an eye-watering waste. Scrap the lot.
