Investors after being satisfied the founder is the right fit to build will then focus on the product itself. One thing they look at is how adaptive the product is. Ideas are never born perfect. Product contact with the market will reveal flaws during ideation. At this point Investors are not even looking for a sign you pivoted, only evidence that the product has been iterated after contact with relevant market data. Essentially, Investors are looking for evidence that the product is grounded on solid market data and not some grand illusion.
Michael Ayua@Tor_yeke

Some founders conceive a product first, then incorporate a company as the vehicle to bring it to life. Others build the company first and brainstorm the product later. Investors gravitate toward the former.

@eliana_jordan I don't think ideas are that scarce. The moat has always been execution. If someone copied your idea and executed it better and faster than you then it was never yours to build and your weren't founder-fit for it.

Yale's endowment impresses me for two reasons: it's one of the best-performing university funds, and unlike most university endowments , it allocates a significant portion to startups.

With the Chinese work ethic and it's 996 weekly work culture can any country compete?? You are asking what 996 is right? They work 9am to 9pm 6 days a week!! I think we need to wake up, literally!!

It's important to teach people -especially the younger generation- that they can get to a lot of money through legitimate means without hurting and exploiting people. @paulg says it better than i could: paulgraham.com/ace.html

I have a dream that one day, Nigerian universities would not be judge by the colour of the people that attend them but by the content of their endowments.

PUBLIC APPEAL. EVERY MOMENT MATTERS, HELP FIND EUNICE AMEH. I deeply express my concern over the unfortunate disappearance of Miss Eunice Ameh, who was reportedly last seen on the 6th of May, 2026, at about 5:40 PM, shortly after the close of work around Lake Chad Crescent, Maitama, Abuja, while heading towards Life Camp. This development is both painful and deeply troubling, not only to her family and loved ones, but to all members of society who value human life, safety, and dignity. Incidents such as this remind us of the urgent need for vigilance, compassion, and collective responsibility within our communities. I hereby appeal to residents of Abuja and the general public to assist with any useful information that may aid efforts to locate Miss Eunice Ameh. No information is insignificant. Anyone who may have seen her, interacted with her, or observed anything unusual around the stated location and time is kindly urged to promptly contact the nearest security agency or reach out to her family. I also respectfully call on the relevant security authorities to intensify efforts towards ensuring her safe and immediate return. In situations like this, every passing moment matters. May we all stand together in humanity, empathy, and solidarity until Eunice Ameh is found safe and reunited with her family. Aare Olumuyiwa Akinboro, SAN, FCIArb (UK), Life Bencher Past General Secretary, Nigerian Bar Association.

A customer purchased this meat from the market and stored it in the freezer. However, upon bringing it out to cook, stitches were discovered embedded in part of the meat. This has raised serious concerns. The customer is seeking to understand how something like this could happen, whether the meat is safe for consumption, and if anyone else has encountered a similar situation before.

When I was doing my Master's in FUTO was when I realized that the average Nigerian student is a genius. Whatever you think they turned out to be was none of their fault. But let me give context first here: the screenshot below was my undergraduate project thesis at Redeemer's University. I was in a few project defenses with other sets presenting on building one E-commerce platform or one normal website or the other. Those didn't feel stimulating enough to me, I decided to do something deeper. Long before you heard of Agentic systems that have become productized by @OpenAI and @AnthropicAI, cuz, I was researching on Agentic Systems leveraging the defunct JAVA Agent Development Environment (JADE) as at 2013, which I ultimately presented on. Fast forward to my Master's in FUTO, I was working on some insights surrounding the RSA Cryptographic algorithm. My supervisor then, Dr. Njoku, super brilliant and kind man, called me aside and said, "Johnmark, this thing you are working on, the Computer Science lecturers here won't understand it oo". That was when I knew 2 things: 1. This wasn't the place for me. 2. The students here with big dreams will do great things from this place. Trust me, there were people doing even bigger things than I was doing, ON THEIR OWN DESPITE challenges being faced in the homefront. When you hear someone say talent here are not world class, know for sure he's kissing the ass of a financier somewhere.

@jayhemz Jane Austen uses the romance to critique class, marriage, reputation, and gender expectations in Regency England. That aside the her artistic style is elegant and clean. It's a romance classic you should read it.

You mentioned a genre and a book that enhance smartness: Classics, The Bible. Romance doesn't. The genre doesn't meet the baseline of grammatical rigour or sentence structures that stimulate smartness. There's nothing in a romance novel that is quotable or reference-able. Sad but true.
mybabylulu@OsinakuPromise

Irrespective of the genre of books you'll read you'll be smart and also communicate well. I don't read self help books and I know I'm Smart. I'll rather spend my time reading romance, classics and The Bible than some faux advise from a wanna be aspire to magwire.
