NVIDIA GeForce Hotfix Driver v595.76 is now available. This update resolves the following:
✅When the graphics card is overclocked, GPU voltage may become capped, preventing it from boosting to expected levels
✅[Resident Evil Requiem] White glowing light/dots may appear in game when Subsurface Scattering is enabled
✅Improved path tracing performance in Resident Evil Requiem
✅[Star Citizen] Game client crashes when launched
✅Intermittent application crash or driver timeout may be observed when playing multi-key DRM content in a browser on HDCP 1.x monitors

Unless a game you play requires a newer driver version, stick to 581.80. I wouldn’t consider upgrading until the RTX 6000 series is released or NVIDIA releases a driver that surpasses 581.80 in performance.
This is my humble water cooled MSI RTX 5090 VENTUS (paid MSRP) using the Asus Matrix 800W BIOS without shunt modding at room temperature.

@unikoshardware Experiments come with a cost, but they shouldn’t discourage people from going further. This mod would be adopted by many RTX 5090 users if it went smoothly.

what could go wrong when a second 16pin was added on a gigabyte rtx5090?
frame chasers recently soldered a second 16pin onto his gigabyte 5090 aorus master, and shunt modded the card too. the card ran fine after the mods.
however frame chasers later posted another video showing that the card got killed with two holes blown in the pcb. frame chasers then sent the card to northwestrepair.

a very nice video made by Yugimuru (shared by @Pk_419) showed the second 16pin soldering pads on gigabyte 5090 pcb can be used. the shunt resistors at the top right generate a lot of heat. when connecting only one 16pin, if the bottom right one is used, it should be able to reduce the heat pressure to that 16pin because the shunt resistors are far away from the bottom right 16pin. the video didnt test what would happen if both of the dual 16pin being plugged at the same time. Yugimuru tested that the second 16pin can be used alone meaning both of the two 16pin share the same 12v power plane including the two 12v input chokes and the shunt resistors. subscribe and find out youtube.com/watch?v=qiWeGI…

@ChasersFrame I actually achieved better performance with 1000W compared to 800W. I haven’t tested 2500W yet, but it should also help stabilize GPU voltage on leaky silicon.

AM5 Pro-Tip: The secret to getting the absolute best out of your DDR5 kit isn't just the EXPO speed, it’s the ratio.
Once EXPO goes over 6000MT/s, most boards shift to UCLK = MCLK/2 causing a latency penalty.
To maximize performance, scale back to 6000MT/s and force UCLK = MCLK (1:1).
You gain FPS and smoothness whilst remaining stable. That's the 1:1 sweet spot.
you can use zentimings or hwinfo64 to check your UCLK frequency.

My comparison between the ASUS Matrix 800W BIOS and the MSI Lightning 1000W BIOS on an MSI RTX 5090 VENTUS 3X OC - $2100 (with no shunt mod applied) shows a peak power draw of 853W. The Steel Nomad score is 16,748.
By comparison, the MSI RTX 5090 Lightning Z, which costs $5,200, only scores 17,200 in Steel Nomad.🤣
