FLORIDA STORMS RETURN! ⛈️ Starting this weekend and continuing into next week we are going to see our first taste of rainy season as rain chances increase. Here's a quick refresher! 1) These storms are scattered and hit-or-miss, largely during the afternoon and evening. 2) You could see very little over the next week while your friend a few miles away sees several inches of rain. That's how it works unless it's a widespread rain event. 3) Totals in this image are averages per city over the next week. 4) Lastly, let's hope we get the rain without a lot of lightning! It's still very dry out there and lightning could spark new fires. Have a great weekend everyone!

I see a lot of people getting excited about the latest CPC outlook for the back half of May. But I would temper expectations. I don't see any support for this whatsoever. Not quite as chilly as the first half relative to average, but indeed still slightly cooler, not warmer.

As we head into mid-May, heavy snow returns to the Colorado Rockies🏔️and the Great Lakes. Potential for light accumulations across the Plains and even into the Northeast + Ontario 🇨🇦 Don't worry, summer starts in only 7-weeks so it should probably stop snowing by then, right?

The climate prediction center is showing this as well in their outlooks. May will likely end up below normal for temperatures. No early summer coming this year.

Check out how a cold front tries to make its way over Florida. There won't be much change as the front weakens and a high-pressure system takes over, on the surface and also in the middle levels of the atmosphere. Temperatures soar next week.

1638 customers without power after a tornado developed very close to Runaway Bay, Wise County, TX a short time ago, per @oncor. This tornado exhibited highly deviant motion as it intensified. Dangerous storms ongoing NW of the metroplex.
