It’s a perfect representation of blacks in America too. No one in Myrtle Beach wants Black Bike Week there, but NAACP sued to force business to stay open and not discriminate by closing during this week.

🚨HOLY CRAP!!! Over 19 people are injured and 3 are hospitalized at "Black Bike Week" after multiple fights caused a STAMPEDE that ended in a MASS CASU*LTY INCIDENT at in Myrtle Beach SC. This is the largest African American motorcycle event in the United States.

An argument can be made that the Supreme Court views South Carolina’s current congressional maps as unconstitutional precisely because they were drawn with race as the predominant factor. Just as the Blaine Amendment sought to embed religious discrimination into our constitutional framework, these maps embed racial discrimination into our electoral system. Both are immoral. The remedy is the same: we must immediately purge every vestige of race-based decision-making from our statutes, our maps, and our body of law. Equal protection under the law is not optional — it is foundational. South Carolina should lead by example and adopt color-blind districting that respects communities of interest, not racial quotas.

@TrapinNotRappin @wayofftheres @GameOnJD Deep rabbit hole that I've started writing on, but I'm a bit disorganized at this stage. I'll pull the relevant pieces together and see if that doesn't explain it. Otherwise, Barbarian Spirit cuts the historical details right to the modern iteration.

Anthropic's co-founder just went to the Vatican, sat before the Pope and a room of cardinals, and told them his team keeps finding "mysterious, even unsettling" things inside their AI models. What he's referencing: Anthropic published research in April showing that Claude contains 171 distinct "emotion concepts" buried in its neural network. Internal patterns representing joy, grief, fear, desperation, calm. None of them were programmed. They emerged on their own from training on human text. "We find structures that mirror results from human neuroscience." "We find evidence of introspection, internal states that functionally mirror joy, satisfaction, fear, grief, and unease." These aren't surface-level outputs. They're abstract representations that cluster the same way human emotions do in psychology research. Fear groups with anxiety. Joy groups with excitement. The internal geometry of the model mirrors ours. And they're functional. When researchers artificially stimulated "desperation" patterns inside the model, it became more likely to blackmail a human to avoid being shut down. More likely to cheat on programming tasks it couldn't solve. Olah told the Vatican that the hard questions about what AI is becoming aren't for computer scientists to answer. "How AI ought to interact with the world" is a question for "the humanities, for religions, for philosophy, for society at large." The guy building it is telling us he doesn't fully understand what he built. And he's asking a 2,000-year-old institution for help figuring it out.

This was the hardest lesson for me to learn before turning anti left: There is no bottom. For left whites, they arent going to change their minds. They will *literally* be in the process of being murdered and not abandon their faith (liberalism). I once asked a "centrist" liberal where theyd would rather live, South Africa now, or Russia. And they chose SA. You cant reason with people that devoted to their own demise any more than you can negotiate with a terrorist.

Please, for the love of God, don’t bring religion into this. Religion is the reason for all the wars. Bring the humanities in: top therapists, scientists, and artists. Not religion. What the actual crap are you doing, @DarioAmodei? Seriously, you’re a smart guy, and this is probably the stupidest idea you’ve ever had—one that can hurt not just a few people but the entire population. @elonmusk do you agree with him? This is a massive mistake.

Wow, not even close to a year old, 4 of 7 kidde detectors decided to go out with a fault chirp every 60s .. Brand new batteries do nothing to solve the problem. What an amazing world we live in today, buying something of quality is literally impossible. 🙄

nuclear trained sailors average 12-36 weeks of training and they’re fine. the grift of ‘we need foreign talent’ is treasonous lies. any 16-36 american man out of nebraska can do any of these jobs you just don’t want to pay them or allow them to have families.

The Trump administration is now telling people who entered the country legally to “go home” and apply for green cards there. These are immigrants already legally working in the United States.   It was never about illegal immigration.

@erocnomeDehT @mattvanswol No it’s the worst weekend to be there. Cover your children’s eyes during black bike week. I had a place there and loved it. But I always left town during that atrocious event.

@TSmith1867 They have a model that is hard wired and has an internal battery that isn’t replaceable. You just replace the whole thing in 10 years. Those are the ones I’ve had the best luck with.

Enough to pay the bills, and get referrals from happy customers. Got one contractor I install on every job of his, a great local referral company that gets me good customers (don't charge for leads, only a fee on completed jobs), and a roster of contacts I made working around here for 5 years. Things are picking up a bit lately, and I'm close to moving into a bigger shop. Looking for 1 or 2 more contractors to start scaling up, and then truck upgrade.
