A lot of people are starting to learn that building physical stuff at production volumes is really hard and not that many people in the United States know how to do it.

If you want to grow your X (formerly Twitter) account you need to: - tweet a lot. Like more than you think. If you think you’re tweeting a lot, tweet more. The timeline moves fast. - treat as your notes app. That’s the advice I received when I first started and it has worked wonders. Everything you’d typically write in your notes now goes here. The more unhinged the better. Leave nothing unsaid. Leave no stone unturned. - practice writing and hone in on your unique voice. It’s like yelling into the void for awhile bc no one follows you. Good. Keep going. - share photos of yourself and your life. People want to know you’re a real person. - have an opinion. It’s okay if it’s different. But also!!! Be open to changing your mind. This app can get super negative super fast but people used to be capable of having conversations with people of opposing opinions. Practice!! Also. Your opinion is not a fact. - I don’t think you need a “niche” but you have 2-5 things you focus on. For me: fashion, running, relationships, life musings - reply to people and find people you enjoy following!! Build a community. It takes time and effort but it’s worth it. - have fun. It’s not that serious. Remember it’s not real. If it all goes away tomorrow, your real life continues. - you’ll always remember the first time you got bullied and dragged through the pits of twitter hell. Congrats. You made it.

there have been more dangerous times. there have been bleaker times, times of less hope and times of far more sorrow. there have been poorer times, and darker times. but there has never been a time in history more retarded than today.

I gave a talk last week that I was nervous to give to 80 people, because it's weird / about meaning of life / who am I to opine? but then a bunch of those people told me I should share it more broadly. "The goal is to live with godlike composure on the full rush of energy, like Dionysus riding the leopard, without being torn to pieces."

A well-styled tweed jacket rarely misses. An example is this green + earth tones combo, which always lands. Old money vibes.

I have started to notice very smart people who use AI every day, typically as a kind of thought partner, have started to sound like AI, not only employing whatever popular new turn of phrase, but in this kind of bulleted cadence of speaking — a copy of a copy. concerning!

OUR MANIFESTO Hacker culture and the early Internet enabled a rebellion against the stifling business norms of the 90s. In the world of software, especially in F/OSS, people were judged for their work, not their appearance. But over time, hackers built the world and became the elite. As with every culture, people sought to emulate them, leading to a doom loop of dressing down just to fit in. This created a doom loop of dressing, where sloppiness became its own signifier of status. What we were rebelling against wasn’t aesthetics, but the prioritization of social symbols over real achievement and output. However, in the process, we sacrificed the idea that you could make the world more beautiful. Today’s tech community is reclaiming aesthetics. Because the easiest way to make the world look nicer is to look better yourself. We don’t mean that you should spend a lot of time on fashion—you have more important things to think or do. Our brand exists to embody the values of acceleration and make everyone look better without altering the culture of innovation that makes technology important.

this is truly one of the best launch videos made in recent memory this + the cofounder video are proof that the old tactics of hype music, jarring animations, etc are dead launch culture changes every ~2 months, and startups will need to quickly adapt. the next 2-month era of launches will be defined by (1) authenticity and (2) storytelling we love working with the Vori team, proud to power doc processing for the future of grocery!

Grocery is a $1.5T domestic market — bigger than restaurants, bigger than hotels. But it's running on technology from the Reagan administration. We just raised a $22M Series B for @VoriHQ to make every supermarket in America autonomous.

The only jacket that defeats all Barbour models save the Beaufort. A canvas field jacket is a must have: practical, stylish, and rugged. The pockets are roomier. The game pouch eliminates the need for a separate bag. The inner pockets can carry an entire bar or library.
