Slippery slope. The exodus will continue should the millionaire tax pass. Then when all the millionaires leave, the threshold on income for higher taxes will be lowered. Until it’s a tax on all the working people who can’t leave.
Aaron Guckian for RI@GuckianRI

EG is considering nearly an 8% property tax increase tonight! At the State House, a millionaires tax would raise the top rate from 5.99% to 8.99% and the two governor candidates support it and our state senator! Had enough yet? Get ready Arpin! Six months and a day on steroids!

My neighbor bought his house in 1987 for $74,000. He refinanced once. He paid it off. His property taxes are $1,800/year because of how long he's owned it. The exact same house next door just sold for $710,000. The 28-year-old who bought it pays $9,200/year in taxes. And $4,100/month on the mortgage. Same street. Same house. Completely different life. We didn't just price people out of homes. We priced them out of futures.

I’ve been in these emergency management meetings across cities in New England with an infrastructure at or over 100 years and approaching end of life. You ask the engineers what is the biggest emergency or disaster that can hit one of the places and they all say the same thing. Not a heat wave🥵, hurricane 🌀, blizzard 🥶, fires 🔥 or electrical ⚡️outage…resoundingly they all fear a storm water/sewer failure, especially in part of the city where it’s a shared system(both sewer/storm water). As one engineer said to me in a city of 100k. “If the sewer was to fail in just one neighborhood the inability for 10-15k residents to not be able to flush their toilets or use water would be a FEMA disaster to which few can comprehend.”

Nobody is telling you how FUCKED New York City's infrastructure actually is right now. Everyone is watching the flood footage. The cars underwater. The subway stations turned into swimming pools. Nobody is talking about the fact that six inches of rain just paralyzed a global city. Not a hurricane. Not a once-in-a-century storm. Six inches. In a few hours. And the Long Island Expressway shut down in both directions. The F train suspended. Flash flood warnings across every borough. By rain. → Cost of fixing this: deferred for decades → Cost of not fixing it: the entire city grinds to a halt → That is not a weather problem. That is a maintenance problem. NYC's catch-basin cleaning fleet was 63% out of service during prior storms. By end of 2023 it was 77% out of service. The city had 19 functional trucks for five boroughs. Nineteen trucks. For eight million people. 💀 Here's what nobody is explaining to you: This doesn't just change THIS storm. This changes ALL storms. Forever. → NYC has 7,400 miles of combined storm and sewer pipes that back up the moment rainfall exceeds capacity → Many of those pipes are over 100 years old — built before cars existed, let alone SUVs and modern runoff volumes → Fewer than half of the city's 964 priority catch basins were inspected before recent storms hit → This exact same thing happened in 2023. And 2025. Same expressway. Same subway lines. Same excuses. → The city knows which drains are clogged. They have a data-driven priority list. → They just don't have the trucks to clean them. → So every time it rains hard, the same streets flood, the same trains stop, the same headlines run. → And then nothing changes until the next storm proves it again. The source tweet said it directly: "Six inches of rain shouldn't do this to a major city, but clogged drains and years of deferred maintenance will." That's not a weather forecast. That's a confession. New York spent decades deferring the maintenance bill. May 21, 2026 is what the invoice looks like. Bookmark this. You're watching the biggest infrastructure failure since the last time it rained. I'll keep you updated. Turn on notifications. 🚨

This is Bob and he has some advice from all his years of experience. This is what not to buy according to Bob. Don’t buy an RV, don’t buy a boat, don’t buy a motorcycle and don’t buy a hot tub. He says they are a waste of money, a lot of upkeep, you never use them as much as you think you will and they have a terrible resale value and depreciate. A lot of people said Bob has had his fun and now he wants to spoil the fun for others. 😂 Many others said they appreciated him sharing his experience and agreed with him. He said if you can’t eat it then you don’t need it. 😂 So in essence, don’t be like Bob. Agree or disagree- I love the way Bob tells a story. 💯 I’ve had a boat, I’ve had a motorcycle, I’ve had a hot tub and I can confirm that I didn’t use them as much as I thought I would and always had issues with them. What do you think? Do you think Bob is spot on or do you think he’s full of it?

🚨BREAKING: Brown University student Alex Shieh previously EVISCERATED the school's administrators for having a $46 million deficit, despite surging costs for students. They pay $90K+ PER YEAR. Alex Shieh: "What about the kids who weren't born on third base?! [...] Brown is on track to run a $46 million DEFICIT this year. WHERE is all the money going?" "I'll tell you where it's going. It's going into an empire of administrative bloat and bureaucracy! Brown employs 3,805 full time non-instructional staff for just 7,229 undergrads. That's one administrator for every two students." "This isn't education. This is bloat paid for on the backs of students and families who are mortgaging their futures for a shot at a better life!" Do you firmly support Alex Shieh on this? A. Huge Yes B. No IF Yes, Give me a THUMBS-UP👍!! MAKE THIS GO VIRAL ON 𝕏. LET’S GO 👏
