@OurSf49ers But the issue isn’t about quantity of championship wins, it’s about the quantity of injuries. Jerry’s point is a false equivalency and a non sequitur.

JUST IN: A new 49ers defensive coordinator search update... According to @MaioccoNBCS, the 49ers have interviewed Raheem Morris, Joe Woods and Gus Bradley for the DC position. Kyle Shanahan and Raheem Morris are very tight. - Kyle has said if he was a GM, he'd want to hire Raheem as a HC - He wanted his dad, Mike to hire Raheem early in his coaching career - Kyle actually got arrested at the NFL Combine in 2005 defending Raheem #49ers

After the Browns informed DC Jim Schwartz this morning they were passing him over to hire Todd Monken as head coach, Schwartz was visibly upset, said goodbyes in the building and told other coaches he’s not coming back, sources tell The Insiders. Schwartz is under contract and Cleveland wants to retain him. But his future is now unclear.

Greg Cosell was asked if Jim Schwartz would be a good fit for the 49ers: “Yeah. I’m a big Jim Schwartz fan. When I talked to offensive coaches around the league, they think Jim is one of the toughest defensive coordinators to play against. He’s essentially a four down line pass-rush guy, but on the backend he plays a lot of man coverage. He essentially does a lot of things where the picture is very muddied for quarterbacks. Sometimes you’re uncertain whether it’s cover 2 or cover 3. The look is very muddied and dirty and it can be very hard to play against. He wants his down four to be the foundation of the pass-rush, and he’s not adverse to blitzing, but he would really like to have 7 in coverage. I can tell you that he’s viewed by offensive coaches in the league as a very difficult coordinator.” via: @957thegame

Jim Schwartz would be a fascinating DC add for the 49ers for several reasons… -His longtime former DL coach, Jim Washburn, is Kris Kocurek’s mentor. So Schwartz has run the Wide-9 like SF -He would likely change back-end stuff… a lot. Schwartz runs man coverage more than any other NFL DC. He also blitzes at a top-10 rate. Both would be big departures from the 49ers’ existing way of doing things -There is the classic Schwartz-Jim Harbaugh handshake history from the 2011 49ers-Lions game -Schwartz might have to force his way out of Cleveland like Kyle Shanahan did in 2015 to make this possible

Dashon Goldson on what kept the 49ers from winning the Super Bowl in 2023: “I had the opportunity to work with that team in 2023. Kyle’s a great coach. The thing that didn’t get us through was leadership. They have a group of core guys that really, I don’t know how much football really meant to certain people. They were a talented and good football team. The difference between us (2011-2012 49ers) we enjoyed football. We enjoyed being around each other. We had a common goal. We put team before self. I feel like this day and age these guys are so worried about Gameday and how they’re gonna look. Their clothes. Things of that nature. I’m like 'Bro, you about to go out there and put your life on the line and you worried about how you look going into the stadium?'. How I look at the game now is totally different.” via: @thegritcode

@F1FanAndGamer @ThaBigBear74 @toys_retro 1). Just claiming something is debunked doesn’t magically make it debunked. 2). Name calling and ad hominems are not valid arguments. 3). The “Appeal to Pity” is a logical fallacy. Three strikes in one short comment. That’s remarkable.

We live in a world where Bill Belichick isn’t a first-ballot Hall of Famer and Sheduer Sanders is a Pro Bowler. We used to be a proper society.
Adam Schefter@AdamSchefter

Bill Belichick, the 8-time Super Bowl-winning HC, is not a first-ballot Hall of Famer, per @SethWickersham and @DVNJr. Belichick fell short of the 40 out of 50 votes needed for induction to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. espn.com/nfl/story/_/id…

@TonyBandz5x @49ersSportsTalk And here we have another example of a low-effort thinker incapable of mustering an independent thought of his own, as he regurgitates whatever talking points his TV (and the mouth-breathing friends he’s surrounded himself with) say.

Old-earth creationism is often a first step toward theological liberalism, because it deploys the same moves as theological liberalism. It tries to squeeze Genesis 1–2 into a secular humanist cosmology, which means the secular story is the controlling framework, and the Bible gets reworked to fit into it. That’s the same move liberalism makes with the resurrection, the virgin birth, the atonement, etc. It’s also the move liberals make with homosexuality and women as church officers/preachers. The plain reading of the text is discarded for no better reason than "it doesn’t seem credible to modern people; it doesn't fit the 'science;' it would make us seem ridiculous in the eyes of the secular world," etc.
