@Starkian7789 Yes. The bigger difference is that none of these states are an "idea." Nations carved out by colonial powers with the most arbitrary borders ever - Pakistan and Nigeria - are allowed a national identity based on blood. The US, on the other hand, is an "idea" anyone can join.

This WN trope misses the mark. Yes there is a Whites double standards where shamed are for being ethnocentric but must non-White nations aren't ethnostates either. India, Pakistan, South Africa, Brazil, Nigeria are all super diverse.

And towns were pretty distinct. The internet and the move of young people to big cities, in particular, has destroyed this I think.

This is interesting! Families who owned motels saw a fall in revenue during the 70s oil crisis which meant fewer people were traveling. Kids of owners didn’t want to run motels. They sold to Indian families willing to live in the motels they worked at & do the cleaning themselves

One reason that rural areas with entirely old stock white populations and no immigrants often stagnate horribly is this lack of any business drive.
The population doesn't just naturally know to develop a product, make a product, and sell a product.
No "hustle" at all.

As a wild generalization, we can say that the longer a family has been in America, the less likely they are to have any concept of engaging in small business.
This applies to both higher end people like WASPs and "Hillbilly" families alike.

@Empty_America Interesting. I always saw entrepreneurialism as just baked into the cake of American childhood. In my family, there was a “even if you start a business, you must first go to college” (which I disagree with), but the option was always there nonetheless.
