Fabulous day having @ColinTheMathmo visit us at @StBenedictsHS ! Y10 looked at the patterns behind juggling and created a new 5 ball trick! 🤹‍♀️ Y11 students calculated the distance to the moon using Pythag & Algebra. It was roughly 380,000km!! 📐🌖 1/2

Had a great day at school today welcoming @ColinTheMathmo to @StBenedictsHS to talk to our year 10, 11, 12 & 13 students. Three fantastic talks that the students loved and a fab maths chat with the department at lunchtime. Looking forward to next year already!

Year 7, 8 & 9 students had a great day yesterday with maths expert @robeastaway who delivered talks on Maths, Magic & Mystery, a Curious Maths Quiz and The Maths of Money! 💷🔣✖️ The students found the sessions really informative, thanks! 😀

Some students recreated the talk for one of their other teachers. And were desperate to get home to tell their families all about it!

Had a great day in school yesterday with @robeastaway visiting to deliver talks to our year 7, 8 & 9 students. Thank you so much Rob! The students really enjoyed it and were so engaged thinking about maths in everyday life.

The Maths Department would like to say a big THANK YOU to the Year 7 Maths Ambassadors who represented our school wonderfully during the Year 6 Open Evening last week! They were enthusiastic, hard working and very helpful. ⭐️
