Dear new Japanese friends... May I beg an explanation of something of you? I'm sure the answer is different for everyone... but... WHY do you like us? Many places we have gone to war with, and even some of the ones we have gone to war to save... seem to hate us But our nations engaged in some of what is arguably the most horrific warfare in human history to that date, and it's not like you got space away from us or our culture afterwards to gain peace over it why don't you hate us like the Germans do? Or the french? or on most days, half of the British? I'm VERY happy about it, and grateful, but I have always wondered what the difference is I know much of it for us is "We had a problem, we settled it, now there's not a problem"... kind of the "2 dudes fight on the playground and end up best friends" thing

I just shared half a dozen photos of my ancestors, as well as one photo of an actual Revolutionary War veteran, who directly descend from Patriots. And that’s not even all of them! I could go on for quite a while longer if I had the time. When you combine my husband’s direct ancestors with mine, our daughter directly descends from more than 35 Revolutionary War Patriots, including a Culpeper Minute Man. If you were to add the number of indirect ancestors like the brothers and cousins from our families with our direct ancestors, she descends from almost 75 Revolutionary War Patriots. Our families have served in every single war since then. Our ancestors have fought, bled, and even died for this country. My husband has served this country. Don’t you dare tell me it’s not my country to begin with. We are literally the posterity talked about in our founding documents. The level of disrespectful hubris you — an Indian — holds against Americans despite the fact that you would jump at the chance to come to our country for work astounds me. When foreigners wonder why Americans have suddenly become opposed to any and all immigration, this is one reason why. We are over it.

If that same candidate happens to have a spouse whose employer covers the family's health insurance, it eliminates that cost for you and allows you to make a competitive offer. You literally save $40k just based on what that candidate's situation happens to be. Such a crazy system in so many ways.
