@spacedredd @PlotWeaver I always scratch my head when the news says, "they searched the home of the suspect and found 200 rounds of 9 mm ammunition", with a tone implying that's a lot... That's like a day at the range.

@PlotWeaver There are two rules... 1. There is NO SUCH thing as too many guns... 2. There is NO SUCH thing as too much ammo... If there are people who state other wise... Kick them out of your life! You don't need that type of negativity in your life!

日本の友人たちへ For my friends in Japan🇯🇵: This is a common perspective on guns within America's gun culture. "How many guns should a normal person have?" - About five. "That sounds like a gun enthusiast to me." - No, a gun enthusiast has fifteen. "That sounds like someone obsessed with guns." - No people obsessed with guns have hundreds. "That sounds like a psycho." - No psychos seldom own guns, or just get one or two. "That sounds like a normal person though." - No, a normal person has about five, we already covered that ...

@TheCensoredRock This is honestly the funniest Tweet ever. "We don't like you, because you don't like us. Now be sad we aren't going to visit..." Okay bro, like you could have just said you forgot to call....

House Pepsi is scattered and weak… A secret meeting in the Holy City of Crush between the three other factions is currently being held in hopes to capitalize on this opportunity. The small Dominion of Dr Pepper seeks an alliance with the unruly mountain vagabonds of Descendants of Dew but without assurances from the Coca Confederacy negotiations are currently falling flat.

@Rothmus The amount that Wisiconsonians talk about it, in this age where people are fully aware of the consequences, makes me think that they are for real.

@yuu_yuu_to I don't think anyone today has a clear picture of all the events that happened back then. A good record just doesn't exist and nothing was stored electronically. There were probably a lot of emotions that drove decisions too.

@yuu_yuu_to I honestly don't know. Frankly, I'm not sure anyone has a clear picture of anything from that time at this point. It isn't like there is a digital record people could review to analyze the situation. I do know that the Pacific theater was BRUTAL. I hate to say it but emotions?

@yuu_yuu_to In fact, we didn't have enough nuclear materials for a 3rd (at least right away). The logic on dropping them so close was a bluff so your military would think they'd just keep coming. At least that's what I remember learning.

@yuu_yuu_to This is half right. The thought at the time was that the Japanese were such dedicated warriors, we would have to invade to defeat you. It was viewed as a way to spare suffering on both sides by being such a shock, you'd be forced to surrender out of fear.
