Many places we have gone to war with, and even some of the ones we have gone to war to save... seem to hate us But our nations engaged in some of what is arguably the most horrific warfare in human history to that date, and it's not like you got space away from us or our culture afterwards to gain peace over it why don't you hate us like the Germans do? @yuu_yuu_to This is half right. The thought at the time was that the Japanese were such dedicated warriors, we would have to invade to defeat you. It was viewed as a way to spare suffering on both sides by being such a shock, you'd be forced to surrender out of fear.
