@H_H_Gray Panels are relatively cheap, most of the cost of adding them is the labour, scaffold, inverter, and potentially batteries. If you're doing all of that anyway, why not spend an extra £400 and generate twice as much power.

Trouble is, conspiracy theorists combined that with a separate (harmless) thing where oxford closed half a dozen roads to cars: oxfordshire.gov.uk/residents/road… And we somehow got "THEY WANT TO TRAP YOU IN YOUR HOMES!"

@TheSpoilist Ah. The critique I’ve heard is that where such zones have been implemented there is a zone transfer charge when crossing zones with a vehicle. So the council? I can’t see anyone in their right mind arguing against there being stuff you need within 15 minutes. I’d sure like that.

@Akely Maybe in 8ish years here in the NL. But I'm not sure it's better here. There's organised (drugs) crime even/especially in smaller cities and rural areas.

While the politicians and law enforcements are wringing their hands and talking discussions and proactivity there's so much shootings, bombings, murder and violence now that I am actually considering fleeing the country. 1/2
