So, maybe we were the only seasoned pros at the clinic today after all. There was another couple there for an IUI, and I guess they didn't know that you would spend the entire morning waiting. 😅 You have to be there at clinic open for the man to do his part...

@CatholicCharm I How is it possible unless you are going thru fertility treatments? I’ve only ever heard of knowing which side the egg came from when having an IUI or timed intercourse bc they are monitoring you by ultrasound So I’m curious, how can they tell?

Moms of Twitter, during your first scans for pregnancy did the tech ever tell you which ovary supplied the egg for your baby? I have 4 kids and 3 came from my left, 1 from my right

I've seen the trend that couples get McDonald's fries after embryo transfers as a way to help baby stick. Well, our tradition is to go to Freebird's for a burrito after an IUI. 😅

I don’t know why people act like this is 50/50 when the pregnancy is happening entirely in the woman’s body.

The secret to maintaining your snap back is making your husband get a vasectomy ✨ (Pairs well w tubal ligation for the razzle dazzle )

The safest permanent birth control isn’t what most people think. Vasectomy and tubal ligation are both effective — but they’re not equal when it comes to risk. Vasectomy is generally safer.

@xevekiah I had three doctors use the exact same logic to refuse me a tubal ligation. I have a condition that means pregnancy/birth will almost certainly kill me AND the baby, but who cares about that? My future husband might want kids and I'm expendable!

I NEEDED an IUD. I have endometriosis. I vomit from pain every month. I miss work. I pass out. Doctor: “Are you married?” “What if your future husband doesn’t like IUDs?” “Some men say they can feel it.” “You should discuss contraception with your partner.” I said I live alone. I pay my own bills. I am the one bleeding on bathroom tiles. He said: “Well, fertility is a shared decision.” Shared. With a man that does not exist.

For generations, a married woman could not consent to her own surgery or medical decisions, her husband signed for her.If she wanted a tubal ligation, a hysterectomy, or even certain treatments, she needed his written approval. The idea was that her body affected “his family line,” so he had legal authority. Think about the indignity: a grown woman, capable of childbirth and survival, unable to sign for her own health. The right to medical autonomy for women is shockingly recent and still contested in many places.

Her OBGYN gave her a “husband stitch” after her last baby, which required a surgical fix. Her doctor even joked about it, to their horror. She’s currently trying to sue the doctor, but nobody will take her case. Someone take this case. That’s the last area you ever want someone meddling. How unprofessional. Good grief. 😬

Opportunistic bilateral salpingectomy reduces the risk of serous ovarian cancer by more than 75% compared with hysterectomy or tubal ligation, research suggests. ausdoc.com.au/news/opportuni…

Getting weird on here with all the vasectomy vs. tubal ligation debates lol I have zero interest in telling anyone what to do, but I do want to correct a myth I keep seeing about tubal ligation and hysterectomy risk. Some earlier studies showed slightly higher hysterectomy rates in women who had tubal ligations (aka tubes tied), but that’s because many of those women already had underlying gynecologic issues (fibroids, heavy bleeding). Larger studies have shown no correlation. Another thing worth noting: salpingectomy (removing the fallopian tubes completely) lowers ovarian cancer risk, because many ovarian cancers actually start in the fallopian tubes. Just sharing info. Don’t care what you do 🫡

Tubal ligations performed 2x more than vasectomies in US—why? Vasectomy: 0.1% failure, quick 7-8 min outpatient local. Tubal: 0.5% failure (5x higher), abdominal surgery. Women have sacrificed enough. Men: step up—simple, effective, cheap. #Vasectomy #MensHealth

Stop attacking pastors over what the government should be responsible for, you didn’t elect pastors into office. The constant criticism of men of God needs to stop. We keep focusing on minor issues while ignoring the major ones. We are all responsible for building a better Nigeria, not just spiritual leaders. As long as you carry a Nigerian passport, you count.
