(I looked myself and couldn't find anything) I'm pretty certain that this isn't the case. Genjutsu is not some sort of Kekkei Genkai. There are better arguments why Madara avoided Genjutsu.

I think many people forget that this is still a shonen Anime. There needs to be moments for characters to shine. I think making the moment feel special was more important.

Tracking chakra is one thing, but reacting to it is another. Guy’s chakra in 8th Gate was literally burning his own life force to create pure physical kinetic energy. It’s not a standard jutsu you can just "dispel" or counter with Genjutsu. Even if Madara could see the "blur," his brain still needs time to process and cast. Space was literally bending around Guy—light and perception are warped at that point.

Making characters shine is important. I think this was a factor here. I doubt Kishimoto thought much about "how can I make this consistent?"

You’re talking about theory, I’m talking about combat reality. 💀 Even if Madara could use Genjutsu through a finger or whatever, he needs to see his target or at least track them. Guy in 8th Gate was literally bending space. You can’t cast anything on a blur that’s already crushing your ribs.

@rimkus001 @jaymes_Lu @emmywayne64 Genjutsu(except Tsukuyomi) can be used without looking into the eyes of somebody. I always found it retarded to reduce the Genjutsu usage of Uchiha to their eyes. Otherwise the whole clan were a bunch of bums, by handicapping themselves
